Very unsettling scene. But all i could translate from looking it up online is this English " Isengard descend All hurl him Our lord of Ruin King Sauron Leads in Mordor (Repeat) Isengard descend All hurl him Our lord of ruin King Sauron Leads and rule all in Mordor " Black speech "...

If at first you don't succeed ... call Peter Jackson Jim Korkis shines a spotlight on Hollywood's first attempt to turn J.R.R. Tolkien's literary masterpiece into an epic film series: Ralph Bakshi's animated "Lord of the Rings."

The title is somewhat provocative, as Bakshi didn’t really spend the Budget on Pot and LSD, despite that probably being a significant portion of his private budget. But it is meant to indicate that Bakshi fell for the then popular trope that “Pipe-Weed” was ”Pot,” and Tolkien some sort of...

Ralph Bakshi's The Lord of the Rings (1978) is now on Blu Ray, and also re-released on a much better DVD edition, complete with a making-of documentary...

What a sequel to Ralph Bakshi's adaptation of LOTR may have looked like. I wrote this a fairly long time ago for the LOTR fan-made special edition DVD, but didn't finish it in time, and, in fact, never did get around to finishing it. Ah well, here it is: JRR Tolkien's THE LORD OF THE RINGS...

Forgive me Bakshi for i have sinned, i saw the ROTK EE and i liked it :( except for the first hour and the last 30 min !!!! and some minor bad addittions Everything seems to flow, not too many jagged edges, the question remains, how much re shooting did Jackson do? The EE deserves the...

In his 1978 rendition of The Lord of the Rings, Ralph Bakshi replaced Glorfindel, who jumps into the story in The Fellowship of the Ring; Flight to the Ford, with Legolas. As we all know, Peter Jackson introduced Arwen in the role of Glorfindel. Which was a better 'solution' of the two...

I would like everyones feedback on this topic: who done a better job of representing TLOR in their movie, directo Ralph Bakshi or director Peter Jackson? Please, if you haven't seen both these movies and read TLOR, don't vote. Thank you alot.

In Bakshi's animated Lord Of The Rings, where is RoTK. Why is it not included? Someone please enlighten me.

This is a point that I first thought of a year ago when Fellowship came out; I brought it up in another forum but at the time no one seemed interested in discussing it. Now that The Two Towers is also out, I thought it would be interesting to revisit it. My thought is this: one claim...

Pj's work is all glitz and glamour, but when you bite into the centre there aint so much substance at all Bakshi's on the other hand, is a great "first ever attempt" at a masterpiece they said cant be translated. From that perspective you cant fault Bakshi, he had neither the resource nor any...

I have just come back from seeing Bakshi's film, and I think I am about to puke. To be quite honest with you, I didn't actually finish it. I stopped before the end it was so bad. For some reason I remembered it having some nice scenes and animations. What the f**k was I thinking? The only...
