character

If you could be a character in any of Tolkien's books, who would u be & why? As for myself, I'd be either Bilbo, Frodo, or Sam.

Hello everyone! My name is Orlando, aka Orlyman, a long-time Tolkien fan. I wanted to share something I've been quietly building for a while, and I think this might be a good community to appreciate it (and probably/hopefully have a lot to say about it). I found it really interesting putting...

Imagine this: you’re dropped onto a kitchen set with blinding lights, three malfunctioning cameras, and a co-host of your choice from all of fiction. The rule is simple — you must eat whatever they make. No take-backs, no offscreen substitutions, no “it’s just for show.” I’d pick the Swedish...

Dear Forum, Here's a link to Tolkien and the Dangerous Truth, a new-ish novel in which Tolkien is a character. It is a satirical exploration of a what-if: just supposing Tolkien's Oxford dictionary work in the summer of 1919 were only a cover story... A link to the book on Amazon (note there is...

Not exactly a Hero (who by no means needs to be someone doing heroic things) but someone who you think the Book is all about? I've always thought that the story was too big just to have one central character, and have narrowed my field of heroes/leading characters to the following, based on...

If done correctly and accurately, is there anyone with an interesting life story you'd like to watch a move based on? I think for me, it would be some of the stories of Shahnameh, preferably done by an Iranian group who know the lore well enough to be able to do it justice. But if I were to...

FAMILY TREE OF THE CHARACTERS OF MIDDLE-EARTH LEGENDARIUM Hello everyone, Here is the giant family tree the characters of Tolkien's Middle Earth legendarium. The tree starts with Eru and the Ainur before Time itself, and goes straight down from there to all the characters living at the...

I'm not just talking about the 6 great wars of Beleriand and the other minor wars of Beleriand. Who is the character who fought the most and fought the most military battles and skirmishes, including unnamed wars and conflicts throughout the entire First Age? The 6 major wars of Beleriand, other...

There are very important characters that are not on the list, but I have included the most important and famous ones as much as I could. Who do you think is the biggest and most important figure and character of Middle Earth mythology? I say Turin because; He traveled all over Beleriand He...

Curiously, Fingon is already called 'the valiant' even before he has left Aman. No mention is made of what adventures he might have had, but I imagine him as a bit of a daredevil explorer (rather than an 'ordinary' explorer like Fëanor and his family). So here is a gif image I made of a young...

Who do you think is the character that killed the most elves in the wars of beleriand and first age?

I took this Select Smart quiz to find out who I am among characters from The Silmarillion. Here is the link: https://selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=silmcharacter I got Fingon for #1 and myself at #3. @Fingon_Findekano Can you believe it? 😂

(no posting 2 or more in a row, it doesn't give any one else a chance) Amroth, King of Lothlorien

Guess one can say both, but just curious

He seems to be the most cynical and having the darkest outlook. For example: At the Council of Elrond, when discussing the threat of Sauron and the fate of the Ring, it would have been great to have him channel Winston Churchill: "We will fight them on the beaches....." Instead, he glumly...

Over the weekend I’ve decided to start making playlists for Tolkien Characters/Events-my most recent being Finwe (with absolutely nothing on it 😅). I was just wondering if anyone had any song recs (for Finwe or any character/event) or songs that remind you of a character or a moment (or even...
