I dont think that PJ spent enough time on the ents in TTT he barely scimmed the surface on what the book said about them. They never talked about the entwash or how they moved out of fangorn forest and killed the orcs. Maybe that will be in the extended dvd version of the movie. Another thing is...
I have a great deal of difficulty understanding why this was added into the Two Towers film! For one thing, it makes the Ents seem ignorant of what transgressions have passed on their very doorstep. It shows Treebeard to be ignorant of the destruction of his own herd, and frankly to be rather...
are the ents in any way related to the trees of the old forest? What about the ents that are almost tree like (i forgot the name) Could it be possible that the old forest is the female ents thats ran away?
I do not completely understand the chapter Treebeard in TTT. So the Ents are trees...but not all trees are Ents, they are dormant. I don't know this is very confusing. Someone please fill me in on the main idea of what a Ent is.
I'm definately saying Cirdan. I assume that he awoke at Cuiveinen and is the oldest living thing in ME.
And anyway, Treebeard says it was the elves that came first, and educated the ents, and saved them from stupidity.
P.S. What made the Ents? I'm going to assume the Valar Yavanna did...
I touched on this in my review, but I figured we might as well start a thread about it. I'll get to the point quickly: I believe PJ ought to have straight up cut the Ents from the tale. It was an interesting experiment, but I'm sorry to say it didn't work. I'm not even going to blame PJ here...
Ents or Hurons?
In The Two Towers at the battle of Helms Deep they get rescude (sp) by the Hurons right but what are the Hurons? They are not Ents because the Ents are at Isenguard, are they just normal trees that are brought to life by the Huron Shepards? please help because this is really...
You'll notice that in the above quote there is no representative of the Ents. Some may say the Ents were not an enemy of Mordor, they only attacked Saruman because he was destroying their beloved trees. I may also be inclined to go with that, but it's worth looking upon it from a different...
Anybody Seen an Ent?
Fellow tree lovers! Tolkien was a great lover of trees and nature - the ents, er...Old Man Willow..ahem...Lothlorien, o.k. the WHOLE BOOK, etc! So, my question is, which trees today remind you most of the ents? Which tree would you pick to be Fangorn? :D
P.S. Any tree...
This is from the card game, which is ussually representative of the images in the movie. What do you think? Looks awesome in my opinion. Of course the way he is portrayed will depend on the script, but at least he's not laughable by the looks. More then I can say for Bakshi's attempt... :)...
Aiya dear friends, i have got a question for all of you.
Eagles and Ents, can they be considered Mirröanwi?.
The Mirröanwi are considered to be incarnated beings, and they have hroar and fear.Isn´t it?
Or do you think that the term Mirröanwi only refers to the Eruhini?
Greetings.
Hi all,
Sorry if this topic has already been discussed, but has anyone got any news of what Treebeard will look like in the next installment of the LOTR?
I know earlier in the year people were anxious to get a glimpse of a picture of Treebeard, but as the CGI work on the film will take...
imagine ents reproducing the sheer mechanics of it are mind bogoling. how would they do it. i was recently thiking how could it work. please help me and suggest a few ideas
Who is the oldest?
There is a contradiction as to who is the oldest creature on ME is. Here are a couple of quotes from 'The Lord of the Rings':
On the next page it says:
These are the words of Elrond and Glorfindel. Later in the novel(s) Gandalf the White after being found for the...
The Entwife Mystery....
Where in truth do you think the Entwives disappeared to? Why was it really neccesary for them depart at all? Where do you think fate eventually drove them and to what ends?
Previously 'Whatever Happened To The Entwives', now merged with 'Ents'
