For discussion of my fanfiction story House Telcontar ~ A 4th Age Story. Feel free to comment and critique the story and discuss the reunited Dunedain Kingdom of Arnor and Gondor here if you like.
I have now written two completely different editions of this.
The first (original) I started...
Emyn Arnen - House of Lord Faramir and Lady Eowyn
20 Narquelië ~ 27 IV
Arwen wandered alone in the gardens of Emyn Arnen as a light drizzle fell. The dripping from the trees accompanied the sound of the small creek that wound its way from the hills and through the estate. It had been a month...
"But Arwen went forth from the House, and the light of her eyes was quenched, and it seemed to her people that she had become cold and grey as nightfall in winter that comes without a star. Then she said farewell to Eldarion, and to her daughters, and to all whom she had loved; and she went out...
Why did The Valar Appear to The Free People Of Middle Earth Only in The First Age And Not in The Second Or Third Ages? And Why did Eru Never Appear to The Free People?
this time I am making a different discussion. As you all know, Tolkien never gave the number of armies in the wars in these two eras. So we do not have clear data about the army population in the wars in these two eras. We can only guess. Do you think the army population in the first era was...
So I have been thinking and wondering. How many Maiar lived in middle- earth for each age. The third age at the time of the WOTR appears to have the five Istari, the balrog, and Sauron for a total of 7. Am I missing any? So how does that compare to the earlier ages. I am not looking for valar...
Good-den!
So, we know that following the destruction of the One Ring at the end of the Third Age, Elrond's ring lost its power and he tired of Middle-earth. Thus at the beginning of the Fourth Age, Elrond, and many of his household, left Rivendell to sail for Valinor from the Grey Havens...
The Silmarillion covers three ages. Of these, where would you dwell if you had your choice?
Myself, I think Cirdan's realm was the least bothered by Melkor/Sauron save for just a few times. It would seem to be a peaceful place. But for some reason, Khazad-dum really catches my interest and...
The Fourth Age: Total War Development Team are extremely proud to present:
‘The Fourth Age: Total War – Corsair Invasion’
‘It is the 227th Year of the Fourth Age of the Sun in the reign of the right high and mighty King Aldarion Telcontar of Gondor and Arnor, Lord of the Westlands...
Hi, I'm pretty new to this site.
It is mentioned in the LoTR trilogy (I forget where exactly, though I think it was either in the Return of the King, or the Appendix -I do not have access to the Unfinished Tales) that Arnor was re-established at the beginning of King Elessar's reign, presumably...
"The days darken. It is the Dominion of Men, the Age of Peace, but the roots of Evil run deep, and always after a defeat and a respite the Shadow takes another shape and grows again. The inevitable boredom of Men with good, their quick satiety with peace, has begun to make itself felt upon...
I begin this thread with a copy of a post from another thread about what we might commission Tolkien to write, were he still alive. It turned out that he wrote an aborted sequel to The Lord of the Rings. Details below:

Can you direct us to something that...
To all the Tolkien experts, I have a question. Did he ever try to write a sequel to The Lord of the Rings? I have been trying to understand whether any of his later work focused on this beyond the appendecies in the books.
Thanks to everyone for more knowledge on this.
Regards,
Paul
In the Sil I found a very interesting quote
"...and in every age there came forth things that are new and have no foretelling."
I was intrigued with this, the best I can work on it is:
First age: Either Elves or Dwarves (or both) and maybe Orcs,
Second age: Man,
Third age...
I was reading the prolog to the Lord of the rings and it mentioned things about the 4th age. I was wondering if any of the Home series or other books contain any information on this age.
Are there any successors to Sauron lurking in Middle Earth at the beginning of the Fourth Age? Did Tolkien intend the post-War of the Ring Middle Earth to be completely peaceful? Did Tolkien foreshadow an eventual end to Middle Earth?
