narnia

My favorite is in that one scene, unsure if it was in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader But there is this scene where Lucy adorns herself in the mirror, then Aslan goes PSYCHE! Channeling that "1 Timothy 2, Acts 19:23-41 moment" How about you? Whats your favorite Narnia moment!

Basically: plagiarism (and specifically Lewis' plagiarism of Tolkien himself) mythological confusion lack of internal history incoherency allegory / religious allegory combined with plagiarism

Brothers and sisters becomes kings and queens? Since you know what the ehem typical role of King and Queen is to begin with. I love the books though, and the BBC tv series i saw growing up. But i always found that technically odd?

I'm reading William Gray's Fantasy Myth and the Measure of Truth. In his chapter on Tolkien and the Love of Faery, Gray states that Tolkien found Lewis's use of unmistakable Christian material "distasteful" since they "blurred the ontological boundary between the primary world (where, for...

Even reading just one of the books is worth reporting. I've just read there are 3 possible orders: writing/publication/chronology See: https://www.cslewis.com/the-narnian-order-of-things/

We are starting a group reading of Narnia soon [on a Narnia forum] likely 1 or 2 chapters a week. If anyone is interested let me know pm me or post. if interested here is the group http://thetolkien.forum/index.php?forums/character-profiles.116/

I would like to know your preference on this subject.

I couldn't make this up even if I tried.:eek::eek: The man who demolished the 'Jurassic Park' franchise will direct "The Silver Chair". I also heard tell that the latest installment of the 'Narnia' movies will be a reboot of the actors, yet still a sequel to the past films. I'm not sure...

http://www.narnia.com/narnia-movie-news-sony-pictures-division-chronicles-narnia-silver-chair/ This is direct from the official Narnia website. I am excited because the two-time Oscar Nominated screenwriter of Life of Pi is adapting it! So exciting! I am also glad it's as far away from Disney...

Hardcore Nerds like us should know the Space Trilogy is Lewis's real awesomeness. Maleldil own Aslan. Perhaps it's just cause people assume Narnia is more tmler to LOTR, but the assumption is false (How do I type in a way to simply I'm saying it like GOllum does?). That's what Wikipidia...

Hey I was just browsing all the "games" on TTF and could not seem to find Narnia trivia one. We have a sub-board for Narnia, but no trivia thread. So I'm making one. I dare say I hope to find someone out there who knows Narnia as well as I do. Not to sound egotistical or anything, but I was...

Despite my immense respect for CS Lewis (Mere Christianity, Screwtape Letters, etc.), I have never been able to plow through Narnia. However, some of you are tremendous Narnia fans. What do you think of this story from the London Daily Telegraph: “Secret theme behind Narnia Chronicles is...

Suggested by the esteemed Maeglin, seconded by a Mr Blackstar (in this thread), here is the question of the hour: What happens to Narnia when the Pevensie royalty return through the wardrobe? Is there a period of anarchy? Are there loyalists? How long before new monarchs are declared? What do...

This may not be the correct venue for this thread, but I received the following information via e-mail. It may be of interest for those who have wondered whether the upcoming CoN film(s) would be "true" to Lewis: The following is some film news from the latest edition of "CBA Marketplace"...

I know this is a subject that has been touched on countless times, with the relationship between the authors, the mutual fans of both books and the impending and released movies, but I thought it would be interesting to start a thread on the similarities between the two authors' very different...

Hi, I just wanted to ask some of the people who've already read the Chronicles of Narnia what order I should read it in. Chronological, or publishing order?  I'm planning on reading it in the future, sometime.

I admit that I love Narnia. Don't get me wrong, I love LOTR also. And do NOT ask me to pick favs. Wont happen. Anyway, if it is okay w/ everyone here, I'd like to start this thread for Narnia. I have searched the web far and wide and I cannot find a half decent Narnia forum. So I would like...

Yep, they're making ALL 7 books, count them, 7, into movies! YAAAAAY! Official website is here: www.narnia.com
