What do you suppose was going through Feanor's mind right then?
Might he have been angry, and recalling the words of Morgoth?
Might he have been considering unlocking the silmarils, but decided not to because the apparant impatience of the Valar might have sounded over greedy to Feanor...
I am doing this intro in Glorfindel1187's stead, since he seems to have disappeared.

Was Fëanor thinking of the well being of all Arda, or was this only a secret, selfish, greedy idea - to have the fairest jewels all for himself?

The Noldor were permitted to take a white ship and return to Valinor. Is this also true for other elves, like the Silvan or Sindar?

We know Legolas was accepted but he was a special person, aiding the Ringbairer in his perilous task. It may be an exception...
What do you think that the Noldor should have done after the death of the King Finwe. What should Feanor and Fingolfin have done? Go after Morgoth or do as the Valar say?
