Okay, I have a ring here that has what I believe to be Cirith runes on it. (They may be some other type, but I dunno)

Elrond, who can read the runes, later says that they are written in the ancient tongue of Gondolin (Quenya? or Sindarin?). Why was Gandalf not able to read the runes?

What I found interesting is that the symbol for f, is Gandalf's G. Hrmm....
It also shows how Tolkien nearly copied old runes to form his....
Eliot asked me a while back what the runes/leters on the inside and outside of the LotR book read. After giving him an answer I realized there should be a thread with all the Cirth and Tengwar on all of Tolkien's published books transliterated!

But those anyone knows anything about runes? and maybe could tell me how to make a rune that means The Blue like Gandalf The Gray but with Blue?
I might have a problem I read the swedish version of the book. And i ques that they havnt been translating the "rune" letters. Do you think that is correct?
