I always wondered if there could be a point where the Ring overcomes Sams love for Frodo even
when he gives Frodo the Ring it says he feels weird but yet he doesn't even have to think twice before handing it to him, do you think if he were to have it for a longer period of time he would even...
I have a question about a quote made by Sam. It is the part when Aragorn takes Frodo. Then Sam, Merry, and Pippin go into the room and Sam has his fists in the air. The he says something like "Unhand him longshanks?" What is longshanks?
If you had to pick an elf (from any age) to take Sam's place along side Frodo, from the point where the fellowship breaks up and through the end of the quest... who would you pick and why?
It says that the Undying Lands are not reachable by a mortal.
Frodo and Bilbo made it and were allowed to stay b/c they had been ring bearers and had the consent of the elves and Gandalf.
How did Samwise make it though? Didn't he go by himself when Rosie died? How did he get there? He's a...
How did they survive?
Okay I may be wrong about this, I can't remember exactly, so disregard this and correct me if I'm wrong but..... Frodo and Sam go without water in Mordor, correct? And they can't drink the water in Mordor because its all poisoned and gross and stuff, and I'm sure they must...
i don't know if you guys got this before either, but doesn't it seem like the only reason Sam hates smeagol is because they seem to be fighting for Frodo's spot as "favorite servant" ?
it just always seemed to me that Sam was afraid that, yea, gollum might try to kill them, but also that...
Was Sam's love for Frodo and Frodo's for same the same throughout the books or did it progress? What do you think?
I think Sam's was the sam throughout but Frodo's progressed. When the hobbits met Gildor Sam curled up and slept by Frodo's feet...and Frodo showed little love for Sam until...
is this the ring that they trying to destroy thru stealth???
Why does Frodo flash the false gold at everyone ?????
Look mister nice Nazgul and his steed, lemme show u what i got
"hey, guys, look what i got, lemme show it around lol
Sam puts the ring on... Right outsid Mordor!
In The two towers, Sam puts on the ring in the Cirith Ungol pass:
So dont you all think that Sauron would've known were he was? And it says the red Eye of the tower... So wouldn't it have been smart of Sauron, since the ring, and the...
I was reading over TTT again, and it all of a sudden hit me that Sam never takes off the ring. When TTT ends Sam still has the ring on. He has just been knocked "senseless":
The next we hear of Sam is him regaining conciousness (in RotK):
My point is this: there is no lapse in time...
In The Two Towers, the Taming of Smeagol Sam and Frodo use the rope from Lothlorien to get down the cliff. Well they had no way to keep the rope but Sam gave it a little tug as a goodbye and down it came. Anyhow, what you do think caused this? Was the knot just tied in such a way that it slowly...
At the begining of the book it has a scene with the 'Gaffer' (Sam's father) and Old Sandyman (Ted Sandyman's father)who ran the mill, where both were talking. Old Sandyman was explaining all the rumors about Bilbo that he had heard and the Gaffer corrected him.
In the next chapter, Sam is...
Ok, I have heard this mentioned in another thread which I found debatable, I always thought that Sam was a true, loyal friend of Frodos but others ('who'? is not relevant) have questioned this saying that Frodo treat him and viewed him as a servant. I know that Sam always wanted to serve "his...
question about...
in the return of the king, Frodo and sam dress like orcs and then a group of real orcs come and tell the hoobits to follow them right.
whel my quetion is how could Frodo and sam understand the orcs, they don't speak the same languish, right???
I've asked this question before, but not in this forum I think.
Well, what if Sam was a girl? How do you think it would go from there? Would Sam and Frodo fall in love? Would Sam be able to do his "job" till the end? Would Sam be able to stop Frodo from going to the Undying lands...
Would Sam give in to temptation and put the ring on in any stage of the quest? I don't mean puting it on for becoming invisible and so help to finish the quest. I mean putting it on from lust for power. It seems that wearing it twice (or more) didn't quite affect him and he wasn't tempted during...
