Like i keep urging Boromir to win everytime i see the fight scene, because i hate seeing him lose in Fellowship of the Ring.

its the sequel to shadow of mordor (which was a huge surprise in the way I performed, I'd highly reconmmend playing that game first to get the idea of the lore and story), for those that don't know this franchise. You're playing as a gondorian captain of the black gates whose family gets...

So I've had the blu-ray of The Hobbit Extended Edition sitting on my shelf for a few months because I couldn't get myself to watch this movie again. I've already posted my review in the other thread I think, but wanted to write something about the Extended Edition. I watched it last night and...

I thought, before I read all the reviews about the changes, which I am sure stirred a lot of righteous wrath around here, I would just type out my impressions of the Hobbit. I figure if I read others opinions first I would feel I had to justify my opinions verses theirs or it might bring up...

Sorry Bucky, had to start this one because you can't really discuss the films without revealing some elements. Most of these were out long ago on tinterweb! Hello folks, hope you're all well. It should come as no surprise that when something loosely related to Tolkien's work appears on...

I'm not against changes per se, but must everything be so excessive, trying to top the last thing?

I'm new here so I don't know anyone's take on the ending of the LOTR (book, I mean) or whether people have their opinion that frodo failed. But I had heard some time ago that 'because Frodo had felt sorrow and had pitied Gollum that when the moment came that Frodo couldn't detroy the ring...

Theonering.net posted the spoilers from EE from comic con. Here they are: http://www.theonering.net/perl/newsview/8/1090681214

Now these can be any kind of mistakes... Cinematic, inconsistancies, stuff that doesnt go along with the book, just any kind of mistakes in general that could've been fixed. I myself noticed a couple things: -Didnt Gollum fall off of the Cirith Ungol pass? So then how'd he make it to...

Not as bad as I expected. I enjoyed it even though I exclaimed "NOOO!" several times. (Sorry you who sat next to me...) Good: Everyone bows for the hobbits. Not quite what happened in the books, but it gets the point accross. Merry and Pippin are more heroic. Again, not always...

Well, I saw ROTK twice in 24 hours. I went to the midnight showing and then the 8:15. What a birthday present for me! I was entertained throughout the entire movie and I cried at the end. It fulfilled what I was looking for and achieved much more! This thread is about your favorite music...

I was wondering what happens at the end of RotK in Mount Doom. I've read the ending and know that Gollum bites of Frodo's finger and falls into Mount Doom but some guy in my class says Sam stabs him. So can someone tell me is this true or not?

Saw ROTK last night at Mindnight, and I gotta say the Minas Tirith battles is the best Ive seen EVER on screen...... the Nazgul, the Oliphaunts, the charge of the Eorlingas, the death of the Witch King, etc. The only thing I wish had been included is the meeting and the dialogue between...

i was watching the trailer and was wondering what is that thing called that frodo has in his hands when he is in the lair of shelob. i am talikng about the thing that lady galadriel gave him in the FOTR. thanks

Just wondering one thing. A little detail from the book that I though was pretty effective at building horror. In the last book, during the big battle, the Orcs tried to lower morale by be-heading their falled enemies and launching the heads over the walls into the City of Minas Tirith...

There is a thread on Tolkienonline.com where a person named Marty claims to have seen the film and answers hundreds of questions from other posters. The thread is now already 60 pages long. I get the impression that the guy is for real, and what he says fits with what some other sources have...

Cut Scenes! *HORRIFIC SPOILER* *Read spoilers below at your own risk of enjoyment of the film* Saruman and Grima Wormtongue, and the whole confrontational sequence in which Saruman is finally vanquished, are being cut from Return of the King, to only appear in the Extended Edition...
