    Was Ulmo a match maker?

I was thinking of Gondolin, Turgon, Tuor, Idril, Earendil and Ulmo's purpose. The thing is, officially, Ulmo sent Tuor to Gondolin to warn Turgon that he should leave the city and march south. But was that his real purpose? or just an excuse to get Tuor to Gondolin? Think about it, if...

Did Ulmo showed Rivendell to 🧝Elrond?

In The Hobbit, when Torin's company approaches the Misty mountains, even Gandalf had a problem finding the location of Rivendell. The dwarves did not see anything out of the ordinary in those areas that would indicate that there was any settlement there. Is it possible that Ulmo showed Elrond...

    Davy Jones 🎶song

I don't know if you have ever heard the ver with the lyrics or not But if you have, doesn't it sound like a Namo and Ulmo love story(I hope they are not a brother pair😂😂) For example "Drown all dreams so mercilessly And leave their souls to me" (This posted just for the jokes and fun and it's...

Why didn't Ulmo retrieve the 💎Silmaril lost in the sea?

Since Ulmo is the King of the Seas, why did he not retrieve the Silmaril that was lost? By all rights, he should have been able to without any problem. While I know that he rarely left the sea, for so great a quest I would assume he could make an exception.

    Where did Ulmo dwell?

Where did Ulmo dwell exactly? Was it in all oceans even those in middle earth? And was he present in middle earth's oceans even after the undying lands were taken out?

    Ulmo In His Waters

Hi What Was Ulmo Doing During The Third Age and The War Of The Ring? Also Did He Assist In The Rise And Destruction Of The Island Of Numenor?

Did Ulmo know that the Ring was in the river?

This was brought up on Reddit and I wanted to see what TTF's thoughts were. Did Ulmo know that the Ruling Ring was in the river and if so, did he even possibly nudge Deagol in the right direction? It was said Ulmo never forsook the elves and humans and that his spirit ran through all the veins...

Water god thing, looks like Ulmo?

I haven't been able to find a picture yet, but did anyone else think that the water-god (or whatever he is?) in the film was done so excellently, and looked just like Ulmo is described traveling inland and showing himself? The way the giant god-like creature formed right out of the water and...

The most effective instrument of Ulmo, Finrod or Turgon?

The Silmarillion: Of the Return of the Noldor Considering their future kingdoms, and the people that they gathered to themselves. Who was the more effective instrument of Ulmo, in the war against Morgoth, Finrod or Turgon? Another topic from the Debate-Tournament. Enjoy:)

Did Ulmo create the vale of Tumladen on purpose?

The following is written in The Silmarillion: Is it possible that Ulmo caused this to happen with the spesific purpose that it should be a stronghold in ages to come, if the need should ever arise? I understand that this would require quite an amount of foresight. But it still seems quite...

    Ossë vs Ulmo: Insubordination?

In The Book of Lost Tales: Part I - The Chaining of Melko, Ossë is said to have been "... wroth at the upheaval of his realm and feared the displeasure of Ulmo his overlord." Later, in The Coming of the Elves, it is said that he felt an "... ever-smouldering jealousy and rebellion..." against...

    Does Faramir hear Ulmo's voice?

Which of the Valar would have spoken to Faramir? I do not have the Sil at hand, but I remember that Ulmo, Lord of Waters, was the one who spoke to men, whose voice was most often heard by mortals. Gandalf alludes to the lords of the west occasionally, saying that Bilbo and Frodo were meant to...

Ulmo - The Betrayal of Gondolin

When one considers the Doom of Mandos upon The Noldor, it seems that fate was ever to play a part in seeking their destruction. One wonders then if the Valar were subject to this fate and bound indirectly to it? I would question then Ulmo's responsibility in leading to the downfall of...

Ulmo & Tulkas would not 'rebel'

So what's the deal here? Manwe did not not understand evil, but did he know that? Where Ulmo and Tulkas right to to obey Manwe? Why didn't they at least try to talk some sense into him in private? PS: was Tulkas just plain "slow"?
