Do you have a "Claymore" sword on the wall?

If you watched Return of the King. Aragorn has a Claymore looking sword. I am wondering if you keep one stacked on the wall as a decorative?

What kinda sword type is the one i posted?
Judging by the size of the handle (about 15-16 cm), and the length of the blade (91 cm), it might be meant to be a very long arming sword. But I think it's more of a decorative wall-hanger, and not actually a historical sword type.

Of course I could be wrong.

People who collect REAL swords (like Albion swords <go HERE >** ) call such wall-hangers "Sword-like objects" 🤣.
And even tho' I possess a dozen or so LOTR "Sword-like objects" from United Cutlery, I think the phrase is hilarious.
Indeed it would come in handy in getting through customs... "Why no, sir, no weapons to declare, only sword-like objects."

** Visit the Albion website to get a pretty good grounding in the different types of swords and their histories.
They primarily make historic reproductions, tho' they do have some fantasy swords, like the Conan swords.
And the prices for any of their weapons would require the sale of your firstborn male child or, not having one, the sale of a kidney.

Reviews I've seen in collector magazines talk about the "false edge" on this type of collectible.

LOL. Getting through the airport, I made the criminal mistake of trying to onboard a small bottle of mouthwash deemed to be too big.
A significant luggage search ensued, I was duly chastised, and sent on my way - minus one small botttle of mouthwash..!
I suppose in some spheres, it could be considered a perilous weapon.

The newer LOTR "sword-like objects" made by United Cutlery have an edge so false that it is almost rounded; I seriously doubt it could cut butter.
All of mine but 2 (Eomer's sword and Bo's Dagger are very recent issues) are at least 20 years old, and the false edge is still sharp enough (and with not too much pressure) and can give you a nasty raggedy cut.

Those TAS hires have to justify their paychecks....quotas, don't you know?....

Museum Replicas sells historical -- along with some fantasy -- reproductions. IIRC they specify whether a blade can be sharpened.

They are still wall hangers because they are pretty badly made compared to an Albion, or any real sword. Not balanced, most are rat-tail tangs and very cheaply assembled. Compare the prices and descriptions and you can see this. **
The difference between MR and UC is that MR uses carbon steel for their blades which can be [more-or-less] properly sharpened , whereas UC uses Stainless steel which is very brittle and cannot really be sharpened any better than my old UC swords are...just to a raggedy edge.

**Albion swords are true weapons. You could use them in battle and they would hold up; they are balanced and would not tire out your arm.
They are made just as the ones were originally made of which they are copies, with the added advantage as having been manufactured with the latest metallurgical technology.
