A-hem!
Plenty of classical composers, conductors, and musicians would beg to differ - as would I.
They might be forgotten at roughly the same time that JRRT might be ...
"A
-hem." What a pleasant entrance into a difference of opinion. I like it.
Differing is a good thing, and need not be begged for. It would be horrible if we all agreed on everything. Nothing would progress.
I certainly know you're right...along with many others who agree with you. The group had and will continue to have an important and lasting presence in history.
And I would venture to say, their memory may even outlast JRRT, as they brought with them a literal 'revolution' on many levels, taking on the present and looking into the future, while JRRT's work was a monument to the existing - to mythology and to fantasy - and (dare I say) to the past.
As for me, if you don't mind, I would like to maintain my opinion...I'm comfortable with it. There are many reasons why I think so, those reasons irrelevant to many folks other than me. They're simply mine.
You are most welcome to hold your opinion.
Frankly, I'm VERY glad you do, because I suspect it's based on some sound and solid reasoning, good thinking, and resultant conclusions.
Many, if not most, don't know what their opinion is until they're told what it should be by others.
I also suspect you are in the big (if not vast) majority.
I also respect it. I just can't join it.
( or
depending on one's point of view.)
