Swords in 🧌Troll Cave

How did Glamdring, Orcrist, and Sting make their way from Elf territories in Beleriand to a troll cave in Eriador? If, for example, Turgon used one of these swords during the Fall of Gondolin in the First Age, and then Gondolin (being located in Beleriand) was submerged as Middle Earth was smashed during the last battles with Morgoth, how did that sword (and the others, forged by 1st Age elves) end up in a dump of a troll cave, far to the east of where Beleriand stood 5-6,000 years earlier?

I don't think it was written in detail. Most likely they were just looted after the fall of Gondolin so that they didn't sink with the rest of the continent.
