Independence Day in the USA, so I thought this would be appropriate!

Erestor Arcamen · Jul 4, 2023

I got one too!

Neil Diamond is always appropriate!

The singer is a Tolkien fan and a philologist. She is known as Hellawes but her real name is Natalia O'Shea. Her band Melnitsa (The Windmill) performs folk-rock music.

This guy's done a few others as well but I like this one a lot.

How about some black metal? I found great delight in the mellifluous ambiance that graced mine ears, and the captivating vistas that unfolded afore mine eyes within the moving picture. Furthermore, the lyrics, paying homage to the bounteous wonders of nature, didst resonate deep within mine soul, evoking a profound appreciation for the untamed realms of the natural world.

Finished bramble the other day, soundtrack was a definite standout. Brilliant.
It has a great mix of classical instruments and swedish music.
There's also a nice rendition of 'in the hall of the mountain king'

Lullaby from a distand land-forest elves
It's available in YouTube in both Quenya and Sindarin

Sooo I didn't have time to look through the entire 47 pages of the thread, but can I make the assumption that this thread is basically just us sharing music we love we the community and giving some background to it if we want? I hope this guess is correct and my contribution will not be out of place.

I recently got really into Elvis, especially pre-Vegas Elvis (so really anything before he got signed on to have a residence there in 1970). This song is kind of always on my mind now, and its so good. The lyrics are a much needed message in this world of suspicion and ill-will and his passion for the song is very apparent, showing clearly through his voice and body language.

You can. 🙂 Fire away -- as long as links aren't to inappropriate content (see the Rules thread).

There's also a thread for music you think might be heard in Middle-earth, if you're interested:

🎶Music for Middle Earth

[Note: This thread was originally titled "Music for Rohan?", and my OP reflects this. I changed the title because, as you can see, things quickly got out of, um, han! :p] Maybe -- At least I can imagine it at Meduseld. See what you think:

thetolkien.forum

Some people seem to believe they had electric guitars. 🤣

While I'm here, the latest from MAMAMOO:
That's the MoonSun subunit, so I should include one with Wheein pouring her warm honey into your ears:
And I can't leave out my bias, bringing the gravel and sassiness to a surprising cover! 🙂

My favorite song of 2020.

Oh is your bias hwasa? I can't choose when it comes to mamamoo 🙂

Squint-eyed Southerner · Jul 27, 2023

Difficult, I know! But I always come back to Hwasa, from her jazzy beginnings:
To being absolutely blown away by this minimovie 😭:
(I wish I could watch that one on a big screen, with a powerful sound system, instead of being limited to my phone).

I've been posting MAMAMOO for several years, on this, and the original Music thread.

I'm glad to finally have a fellow moomoo on TTF! 😍
