Yesterday, I found these Symphonic Metal versions of Star Wars music on Spotify, and I listened to them during my workout. They kept me running for 14 minutes without a break!!
Of the 4 songs this artist arranged, I think Imperial March was the coolest. They also did the main Star Wars theme, Duel of the Fates, and Battle of the Heroes.
I really liked how they didn't really change the music of the song; it's pretty much played as written but on electric guitars and stuff. (Just goes to show how metal is really just a slight shift away from classical, which is why those are the two genres of music I like the most.) They also have some orchestral and choir sounds. It's all synthesized, though. I'd love to hear something like this but with live musicians/singers.
I had an amusing read through the age-old question as to whether balrogs have wings and got a chuckle. I don't know about actual physical wings on balrogs, but I believe Ozzy when he tells me that Fairies Wear Boots!
A few calming, quiet, orchestral versions of Undertale music. 😊
I find some of them quite moving, but I'm not sure if it's the music on its own, or if it's mixed with nostalgia from the moments in the game when the original tracks play.
Gallows Pole This song was originally a poem by Francis James Child, “The Maid Freed From The Gallows”, Later it was interpolated by Leadbelly as “The Gallis Pole”, who surely inspired Zeppelin to put their own spin on it.
Here is Leadbelly's original 'Gallis Pole' from 1940...
Here is Led Zeppelin's 'Gallows Pole' from 1970...
And now for a different rendition of the poem by Willie Watson...
I stumbled across a live, partly acoustic, partly acapella, performance by Taeyeon of her big hit "Fine":
The original music video, for those who missed it:
And as a bonus, "Time Lapse" from the same concert:
