🎶 The Official TTF Music Thread! 🎶

Picked up the Soundtrack from the 1947 movie The Ghost and Mrs Muir.
Music is composed by Bernard Herrmann (maybe you've heard of him 🙄😄) ; he regarded it as his finest work.

Prelude...

Somehow, I have not heard of this film before. If you have seen it, what is it like? Worth the watch?

Seen it? ...hmm...... seen it ......seen it .....yes, I've seen it a few times.
Number of times I've watched it is, well, I've used up the fingers on both hands and the toes on my right foot, and am on the 2nd toe of my left foot.
So I leave it to you to decide if I think it's worth the watch. 😉

It is based on a book, a novelette a little over a hundred pages. I just read the book for the first time about 2 months ago.
More often than not, I will read the book first on which a movie is based.
I did not do so this time because the first time I saw the movie I did not know it was based on a book until it was mentioned in the credits, which in the older "classic movies" roll at the beginning of the movie, not at the end.
So I wasn't going to postpone watching the movie right then (this was in the the late 70s) just to read the book.
Bernard Herrmann's score was already playing and that just completely hooked me and reeled me in.
Anyway, the movie follows the book pretty closely, and in retrospect I'm glad I watched the movie first.
As for what it's about, well just watch it "cold" (often times the best way) **

N.B. Avoid at all costs the TV series (made in the late 60's I believe ) "based on the movie".
The people that come up with these doofus ideas should be exiled to one of the lower circles of Hell...

** The first time I watched Casablanca early in the 1990s I only knew it was hailed as a great classic; I didn't even know where Casablanca was.
I was captivated; it is my favorite movie. And I truly believe (as do many others ) that it is the greatest movie ever made . . . not was, is.

Stumbled upon this absolute gem while browsing TikTok. It sounds off but in a good way. I think it's a great first song to introduce someone to Black Metal. Maybe you 😅

I love when I grow addicted to songs I don't understand, listening them for weeks day and night, and when I look up a translation, it makes even more sense, because it's literally of me, so from there on, I need more of it.
