Do you mean Maglor, the second son of Feanor? He was very much an Elf. The Maia Melian is the closest name that comes to mind for "Mealos". I just finished checking the indices of The Sil, UT and LOTR, and then checked The Encylcopedia Of Arda and I'm still not sure who you are talking about. Some sort of context would help enormously.
