Brooklyn Bridge, still in use today, appears in over 150 movies, the most recent one being John Wick (2014).
(So they must have rebuilt it after Godzilla wrecked it in 1998 😉)

Oh, OK.
Come to think of it, the Japanese rebuilt vast swaths of Tokyo in a jiffy if the earlier GZ films are to believed.
He could have been useful against Barad-dûr; Saruman would not have wanted to be in Orthanc with GZ "not amused".
And whatever he may have been able to do against Thangorodrim, he certainly would not have noticed Tevildo & Co., as they were about the size of fleas from his vantage point.

Anyway, I think it would have been great if Tolkien had left the cats in the story, after all, if you can have were-wolves, why can't you have were-cats?
