Saruman also known valinor as Curumo was a miar spirit and the leader of the five Istari, we all know of his betrayal of the free people but when did he betray them and what has he done before that? Who really is saruman???

His capture of Gandalf and attack on Rohan would have been his big reveal but it all crumbled rather fast and in less than a year he'd lost his position, authority, and almost all of his power (save his voice).
