Which hero is unmatched in the history of Arda?

[Turin_Turambar]

I know I've opened a lot of polls about this subject before. But I wanted to make the most comprehensive. So valar and maiar are included in the list. Upon reflection, it seemed a little unreasonable to me not to include the valar and maiar, as they are superior spirits. Because in the legendarium, no being is invincible except eru. The best example of this is that fingolfin can fight melkor one-on-one and despite being an elf, he can cripple the strongest vala melkor in foot. Anyway, who do you think is the best fighter and warrior of the legendarium? I say fingolfin this time. When i think about it in detail, if his condition was as good as a vala, so if he did not get tired and if he wouldn't fall into the crater that melkor opened with the grond, perhaps he would have killed melkor already.

Galadriel seems to be an odd choice to have.

Galadriel seems to be an odd choice to have.

Why? Galadriel defeated the sauron who defeated the gray gandalf in the movie series the hobbit. He is also a very strong character not only according to the movies but also according to the books. Being a noldor and at the same time gaining wisdom and strength from Melian by being trained in Doriath makes him unique.

I was going by the books not the movies, in the books she is strong, but she was not trained in warfare, and the poll is for greatest swordsman or warrior, Galadriel was neither.

she was not trained in warfare

Just an Ent-note: some do debate this, for various reasons noted in Silmarillion, though the mentions of possibility are tangential. That said, clearly 'weaponry and armed combat' were not her primary or even mentioned means of battling Sauron or anyone else. So clearly she would not figure in 'best and greatest.'

And Ent never saw her wield a weapon.

Galadriel is the best swordfighter, best leader, best swimmer, best runner, best ork/troll killer, best rhetoric...

Have you not watched Rings of Power?
How dare you assume it's anyone else?

You are raising a tempest in me!

[Ent]

Sorry, Ent forgot rings of power. No, no - Ent means he FORGOT rings of power..!!!
Especially as it relates to anything canonical or correct with regard to the Lore.

Haroombadumborrarum. Somehow Ent finds himself a bit thankful for that.. in that particular Galadriel's case!
Will the REAL Galadriel please step forward.
😁

Better? 😆

Much better.

[Eljorahir]

I might have said Tuor (who seemed to prefer using his axe). However, since the question specified "swordsman" I'll go with his buddy Ecthelion based on this description:

"...Echthelion shore through two captains of the goblins at a sweep and cleft the head of Orcobal their chiefest champion to his teeth; and by reason of the great doughtiness of those two lords they came even unto the Balrogs. Of those demons of power Ecthelion slew three, for the brightness of his sword cleft the iron of them and did hurt to their fire, and they writhed..."

And, the Company of the Fountain marched into battle playing their silver flutes! So, Ecthelion gets extra points for style.

Better? 😆

Certainly moving in a more consistent direction with what's clearly revealed in the Lore..!
