Hair Dye, Cloning and General Epic Chaoticness

Welcome to the Chaotic RP of TTF! This is a fun, spontaneous, lighthearted, and most importantly, chaotic RP which is available to anyone who wishes to join. While our primary goal is to have fun, we have a few rules in order to keep some method to the madness.
  • Firstly, each character belongs to their respective TTF user. In other words, you can't write for a character if someone else has claimed that character. If you're new to the thread, please ask the group which characters are available before you claim one.
  • Even though this thread is chaotic and spontaneous, we do have a storyline going. If you're new to the thread, please read the most recent few pages, or more, so you're caught up on what's going on.
  • Make sure to interact with other people's characters. Don't just go off and write your own thing without interacting with anybody.
  • Don't completely ignore or change the storyline.
  • At the same time, please be flexible if someone introduces a new turn of the plot. This is not a carefully planned RP, and it needs to have flexibility for any chaotic new thing someone comes up with (within reason-- it does need to connect to the main story at least loosely).
  • If you are writing for multiple characters, use a script format to indicate which character is speaking. Use asterisks* to denote action. For example:
    • Maitimo: *tries to shake Celeraccoon off his arm* STOP BITING ME, TYELKO!
  • Try to keep spam to a minimum. I would define "spamming" in this thread as writing more than a page over the course of a few hours. (This can be a tough one to follow, I know.) But spamming makes it hard for other people to keep up.
  • At the same time, if you're going to be absent for an extended period of time, we recommend writing your character out temporarily (such as having them disappear or go somewhere) so other people can continue while you're gone.
That's all I can think of for now. If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to ask!

*Maitimo climbs high up on one of the towers, helping to put some finishing touches on the roof*

*a mysterious black shadow looms overhead*

*a giant black eagle swoops past, swiftly grabs Maitimo and flies off with him*

Maitimo: AAAAAAAAAHHHHH

*They disappear*

Fëanor: Nelyo!! *suddenly pales* It was basically my actions, which lead to my death, which led him to getting captured last time. I am not going to sit idly by and let this happen again! *jumps up on a horse*

Aranya: I'm coming with you! I wasn't even aware of it happening last time and I do NOT want to see my boyfriend become a living corpse again! *jumps up on her own horse; she and Fëanor ride off*
*Aulë and Yavanna exchange a glance.* So it begins.

Laurinalótë: Now this just sounds ominous... And who let the eagles into the feather dye closets?!

(Well, the time has come: I have been authorized to do overtime at my tax job. In order to minimize distractions from work, I am now temporarily writing myself out of this thread, and I will return when the tax season draws to a close. I will not be checking this thread until the end of the tax season, but I'll probably still be online a little to answer some PMs and RPs when I can. Your characters are welcome to look for Maitimo, but please note he will not be found until sometime in early April. Fëanor and Aranya have gone their own way and cannot be contacted either. Maitimo will be brought back, and his fate revealed, at the end of the tax season. Namarië for now, and stay chaotic, my friends!)
(Namárië, mellon nín! Tenn omentielva.)

*Curufin isn't looking towards Maedhros, but his suspicion senses start tingling very strongly and he freezes*
*he feels a sudden silent rush of air and whips around, looking up*

*a giant black eagle swoops past, swiftly grabs Maitimo and flies off with him*

Maitimo: AAAAAAAAAHHHHH

*They disappear*
*A black eagle? After the initial shock subsides, Curufin frowns. He does not recall the Enemy having corrupted any birds of that kind. Neither does he recall seeing giant eagles of that colour before, whether in Aman or Middle-earth. Was this what Maedhros' earlier 'paranoid feeling' was about...?*

*Aulë and Yavanna exchange a glance.* So it begins.
*Curufin grimaces, making a slight noise of disgust* Ugh...

*turns to Fingon, his voice sharp* It seems like this was something doomed to happen... again, and as usual.
*grumbles and sits down, his back against the fortress wall*
*sulks*

*Aulë and Yavanna exchange a glance.* So it begins.
*somewhat suspiciously, but not in an accusing way* Why do you make it sound like you knew this would happen? Could you not have prevented this, or must I plead to Manwë for his aid once more?

*turns to Fingon, his voice sharp* It seems like this was something doomed to happen... again, and as usual.
*grumbles and sits down, his back against the fortress wall*
*sulks*
*listens to Curvo with a pained expression on his face, devastated it has happened on his watch, and to Maitimo again, no less* *after a minute of thinking, a change comes over his face, with a familiar determined light in his eyes*

*jumps off his ladder and briskly strides over to Curvo* Well, what are you sitting around for? We have to go after him! We have to follow where the Eagle went to find Maitimo!

*turns around to address the others* Tyelko, you will come, won’t you? And Íri?

Laurinalótë, part of you is still in Maitimo’s hair. Can you sense at all where they might have gone?

*somewhat suspiciously, but not in an accusing way* Why do you make it sound like you knew this would happen? Could you not have prevented this, or must I plead to Manwë for his aid once more?
*Aulë and Yavanna make eye contact with each other again then look out with a gaze which manages to encapsulate everyone.*

Yavanna: The question is not whether we, the Valar, do or don't do something, the question is what will you do.

Aulë, hefting his hammer: Sometimes, the statues we think are complete need a bit more chiseling.

Laurinalótë, part of you is still in Maitimo’s hair. Can you sense at all where they might have gone?
Laurinalótë: Part of the problem is I don't have eyes. *Coughs.* But really, I don't sense anything out of place in the order of occurrences.

*Curufin grimaces, making a slight noise of disgust* Ugh...
*Laurinalótë pats his head where she is still partially perched upon with her leaves.* There, there, at least Maitimo is not by himself...

*jumps off his ladder and briskly strides over to Curvo* Well, what are you sitting around for? We have to go after him! We have to follow where the Eagle went to find Maitimo!
*looks up at him somewhat sadly, then bows his head*

*he gets up and leaves in the direction of his workshop, as there are some things he probably ought to check on and bring with him*

*the eagle had slapped Tyelko on the back of his head with his giant wing, knocking him out in the process. He wakes up, looking around dazedly, seeking a read head.*

Timo?
*noticing Tyelko had been knocked unconscious in the chaos, Fingon rushes over to help him up* *his voice is laced with concern, not quite sure how to break the news to him*

Tyelko… an Eagle came and snatched Maitimo away, carrying him off before we had a chance to retaliate. Your dad and Aranya rode off to follow him, but I’m setting out too. Curvo went back to his shop, I’m assuming to gather supplies. Do you want to come?

*shakes his head, swallowing down the nausea. Yet the news Findekáno shared with him had him look up in shock and fear. He drops his head after a few seconds, hands fisting the soft grass he was lying on and he gives a yell of rage and despair as he punches the ground*

Not-Not again!

*having flashbacks to the last time this happened, Fingon can’t help the sick feeling forming in his stomach, the aching in his heart. Seeing Tyelko’s grief hits too close to home for him. If only they could just wake up from this nightmare and find Maitimo there with them once more to comfort them, like they could when they were Elflings…*

*he recalls the kinds of things Maitimo told him in confidence before, of the horrors and agony he experienced in Angband, and the heartbreaking condition he was brought home in… the mere thought of it nearly breaks him down in tears too, and he struggles to hold them back. Whether or not that was where he was being taken now, Fingon couldn’t stand the thought of letting him go through anything like that again*

*he swallows hard then continues, speaking softly to hide his wavering voice, but with a decided tone* We have to go after him, Tyelko. We can’t leave him to his fate as a captive. Not again. Will you come with me?

*momentarily shocked by Tyelko’s sudden move, Fingon embraces him back tightly*

Yes, cousin. Together. *takes a shaky, deep breath as he tries to maintain composure*

*after a minute he gently pulls away, wiping tears from his eyes* I’ll, uh, I’ll go tell Ereinion he needs to stay here with his mother. This is no trip for an Elfling his age.

*gives a half-hearted smile to Finrod, appreciative of his offer* Of course you are welcome to join us, cousin. We would be glad to have you.

Íri, do you want to come as well?
