Hair Dye, Cloning and General Epic Chaoticness

Welcome to the Chaotic RP of TTF! This is a fun, spontaneous, lighthearted, and most importantly, chaotic RP which is available to anyone who wishes to join. While our primary goal is to have fun, we have a few rules in order to keep some method to the madness.
  • Firstly, each character belongs to their respective TTF user. In other words, you can't write for a character if someone else has claimed that character. If you're new to the thread, please ask the group which characters are available before you claim one.
  • Even though this thread is chaotic and spontaneous, we do have a storyline going. If you're new to the thread, please read the most recent few pages, or more, so you're caught up on what's going on.
  • Make sure to interact with other people's characters. Don't just go off and write your own thing without interacting with anybody.
  • Don't completely ignore or change the storyline.
  • At the same time, please be flexible if someone introduces a new turn of the plot. This is not a carefully planned RP, and it needs to have flexibility for any chaotic new thing someone comes up with (within reason-- it does need to connect to the main story at least loosely).
  • If you are writing for multiple characters, use a script format to indicate which character is speaking. Use asterisks* to denote action. For example:
    • Maitimo: *tries to shake Celeraccoon off his arm* STOP BITING ME, TYELKO!
  • Try to keep spam to a minimum. I would define "spamming" in this thread as writing more than a page over the course of a few hours. (This can be a tough one to follow, I know.) But spamming makes it hard for other people to keep up.
  • At the same time, if you're going to be absent for an extended period of time, we recommend writing your character out temporarily (such as having them disappear or go somewhere) so other people can continue while you're gone.
That's all I can think of for now. If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to ask!

*Curufin facepalms because Finrod's name means 'The Noldo', and languages should not be mixed willy-nilly in this fashion, even in jokes*
What’s wrong, cousin? Didn’t like my joke? Next I’ll start calling you Curvo the Golden-Haired, since with Laurinalótë sitting on your head, you got an extra dose of her glitter covering you like pixie dust.

…By any chance, can we fly now?

*Curufin examines a few strands of his hair. They are indeed glittering with scattered golden flower pollen. He is not sure how he feels about this.*

*He looks between his hair and Fingon's a few times, realising their colour schemes now match*
Curufin: 😐

…By any chance, can we fly now?
Hmm. I don't know. My brother has, in fact, just been kidnapped and taken to an entirely unknown and potentially dangerous location. My thoughts at the moment would have me imitating a lead balloon, I'm afraid. *looks deeply unimpressed*
*glances upwards*
That is, if your pollen does have the same properties as pixie dust, Laurinalótë.

*Laurinalótë turns to face Yavanna instantly. Yavanna looks at her. They seem to have a staring contest, though how this would be possible with a flower, none can say. Laurinalótë flops down on Curufin's head.*

Laurinalótë: Are you willing to climb to the top of the fortress and... take a leap of faith?

(Pretend it's more gold than orange.)

*Curufin's expression is blank, with a hint of underlying anxiety*

*On the one hand, it could work. Laurinalótë has previously shown some unique abilities. But on the other, if it didn't, he would look extremely stupid. And possibly break something. ...But then again, he supposes there is a Valië here who has healed a few of their injuries before...*

*shoots a haughty glare in Fingon's direction as he heads towards the fortress*
It's for science.

*about to start climbing the crate tower, he glances over at Celegorm*
If I break my ankles, don't laugh.

*he climbs to the top, sits on the edge of the crate, hesitates for a moment, then drops*

*watches in bemusement as Curvo climbs the crate fortress and disappears over the edge from its peak* *a realization dawns on him*

Wait. You meant this fortress? I thought you meant leaping from the pinnacle of Barad Eithel. No way am I letting him show me up by being the only one to jump off!!

*scrambles up the tower and prepares to leap too. However, when he looks down at Curvo, he struggles to stifle a giggle at what he sees* You uh, need a little help there?

*Curufin has stopped falling*

*At some point he must have closed his eyes. He opens one eye, then the other, finding himself gently bobbing up and down in midair like a cork in a basin*

*scrambles up the tower and prepares to leap too. However, when he looks down at Curvo, he struggles to stifle a giggle at what he sees* You uh, need a little help there?
*turns his head to look upwards at Fingon*
*does so too fast and winces*

I am doing perfectly fine, thank you.

*turning his head has made him lean over to the side a bit*
*he flops over entirely onto his side, which almost makes him squeak in surprise*
*he squirms around, fails to get back upright, and instead floats on his back, looking up at his cousin*

*he is certainly not embarrassed, not at all, and matter-of-factly informs his cousin of the results of this 'experiment'*
The air is... like water? But it's not thick at all, so I can move about just as easily as usual.
Hang on.
*he looks like he's concentrating for a moment*
*he shoots upright, rocketing up into the air until he's face to face with Fingon, seemingly standing in midair*

Ah, you see. Moving is an effort of will, not an effort of the body. And no need for happy thoughts.

*addressing Laurinalótë*
Nicely done. Never thought I'd enjoy flying, but I must say this isn't bad.

At some point he must have closed his eyes
*This was Laurinalótë realizing she wasn't certain the experiment was going to work, but she doesn't have any eyes, so she covers Curufin's with her leaves. When they bob in the air, she realizes and uncovers them quickly.*

he flops over entirely onto his side, which almost makes him squeak in surprise*
*he squirms around, fails to get back upright, and instead floats on his back, looking up at his cousin
*Laurinalótë clutches onto Curufin's ears with her leaves to hang on tight, even as he rockets up to face Fingon.*

Nicely done. Never thought I'd enjoy flying, but I must say this isn't bad.
*Laurinalótë lets go of Curufin's ears.*

It is my pleasure!

Aulë, his big booming laugh filling the air: Ah, you remind me of the fautarassë in their first days after I fed them the magic corn.

(I was thinking about having the Fëanorians there only, looking for their own missing brother. Not everyone. So it would be just one more added character. Lómion is gone too, btw.)
