How does Isildur fit into RoP, Hobbit and LOTR timelines?

Someone please help me understand the timeline between the defeat of Sauron, The Rings of Power, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy? Isuldor seems to exist throughout these periods, despite being a Man and there being thousands of years between all of the events? What have I missed???

Well, Elthir basically answered the OP question in the second answering post (third overall including OP).
And we old 'uns do stray in more directions than you young 'uns do, is my impression, anyway ...
Not to be wondered, as we have personal experience of events that you have to ask ma 'n' pa about - maybe even granny 'n' grampa.
We've probably all forgotten a ton of things - at least as far as active memory is concerned. Sometimes references may jiggle dim and dusty memories ... just be thankful that we have forgotten so much, otherwise we'd go flying off into even more arcane and obscure directions than we do anyway ... 😉
