Hair Dye, Cloning and General Epic Chaoticness

Welcome to the Chaotic RP of TTF! This is a fun, spontaneous, lighthearted, and most importantly, chaotic RP which is available to anyone who wishes to join. While our primary goal is to have fun, we have a few rules in order to keep some method to the madness.
  • Firstly, each character belongs to their respective TTF user. In other words, you can't write for a character if someone else has claimed that character. If you're new to the thread, please ask the group which characters are available before you claim one.
  • Even though this thread is chaotic and spontaneous, we do have a storyline going. If you're new to the thread, please read the most recent few pages, or more, so you're caught up on what's going on.
  • Make sure to interact with other people's characters. Don't just go off and write your own thing without interacting with anybody.
  • Don't completely ignore or change the storyline.
  • At the same time, please be flexible if someone introduces a new turn of the plot. This is not a carefully planned RP, and it needs to have flexibility for any chaotic new thing someone comes up with (within reason-- it does need to connect to the main story at least loosely).
  • If you are writing for multiple characters, use a script format to indicate which character is speaking. Use asterisks* to denote action. For example:
    • Maitimo: *tries to shake Celeraccoon off his arm* STOP BITING ME, TYELKO!
  • Try to keep spam to a minimum. I would define "spamming" in this thread as writing more than a page over the course of a few hours. (This can be a tough one to follow, I know.) But spamming makes it hard for other people to keep up.
  • At the same time, if you're going to be absent for an extended period of time, we recommend writing your character out temporarily (such as having them disappear or go somewhere) so other people can continue while you're gone.
That's all I can think of for now. If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to ask!

*Maitimo blushes even redder.* No, uh, it wasn't, um, unpleasant, rather the opposite really-- I, uh-- *clears his throat*

*Aranya grabs him by the shirt collar, pulls his head down and kisses him*

Caranthir: EW. Take the PDA somewhere else! 😡 *throws a sheet over their heads*
*Amrod watches this with wide-eyed fascination.* I’m going to take this as a confirmation that he does indeed like kissing her.

Aranya: Very wrong, I'm afraid. 😐

Maitimo: She had no need to check those injuries 20 times a day.

Aranya: Oh, I had need.
Fingon: Well pardon me, I wasn’t around every moment of the day to count how often she was actually checking on you, or in what manner. I just knew she was always attending to your injuries whenever I came to visit. But how does this indicate anything more?

Curufin: No, keeping those hair strands white is our job, isn't it, Pityo? The sons of Fëanor each do their part... except maybe old 'best man' Laurë here. 😉
Amrod: *blinks blankly* Are you saying I had a part in giving Nelyo stress hair?? I know Telvo and I at times were a handful, but I hardly think we were enough to stress him out so badly. 🤔

*Fingon suddenly appears from midair behind Maglor and pulls him, Maitimo, Aranya, and Amrod into a big hug, smushing them all together.* Isn’t it so exciting?!? I never suspected these two would ever get married, even though I knew they were good friends. What a wonderful surprise! 😄
Maglor: It is! I never expected to be greeted with such wonderful news on my return!
*Maitimo and Aranya laugh*

Aranya: Really, Finno? You shouldn't be surprised!

Fëanor (watching and yelling from a short distance away): Neither of them are subtle about their feelings!

Maitimo: Well, neither are you and Ammë, Atar.

Aranya: *to Finno* Remember when Maitimo broke his ribs at your house? Did you really think I volunteered to check on them constantly throughout the day, and talk to him for hours and ignore your Ammë's headaches, just for funsies?
Fingon: Yes, I remember. *Sticks his tongue in his cheek as he tries to recall the details.* You are a very diligent and thorough healer, so I simply assumed you were really wanting to make sure he was okay, especially since he was your friend. Why? Am I wrong?
*He untangles himself from the hug, laughing lightly*
Maglor: I'm certainly not suprised! Not necessarily because I caught on to you two, but because I new it was only a matter of time before one elf-maid or another fell for my brother. *He grins teasingly at Maitimo*
Curufin: You could say that... I seem to have acquired an alternate universe double in your absence. *points thumb at Curvo* He's good company, but he is obnoxious.
Maglor: My goodness! That's quite the situation. Nice to meet you! *he directs this at Curvo with a friendly wave*
On that note, my musical brother, it is good to see you again. *smirks a bit at his silly pun*
*approaches Maglor and gives him a gentle hug from the side with one arm*
You as well, *he leans into the hug making it a bit more affectionate* I'm sorry it's been such a terribly long time.
*Dissolves most of the kazoos into her golden dust.* You could say so... *Coughs*
*Completely missing what she'd done, he buys into it* Well, worry no more! I'd be happy to help.

Aranya: I can't check on a broken rib very well with a shirt in the way, can I? 👀

Also, *coughs* I'd think my leaving your House to go with Maitimo to Himring should have been a pretty big hint, shouldn't it? You know the fondness I hold for you and your family, Findekáno, so shouldn't my desire to leave have been an indicator of something deeper than friendship?

*Maitimo smiles sheepishly.*

Aranya: It wasn't hard to do. 👀

Well, no, but that’s common practice, I would think. Of course you’d need to see the ribs to see if they’re healing.

You’re the main person who has cared for him, and as a healer you know him best. He trusts you. It seemed only natural for you to leave and join him in Himring, as much as we missed your valuable services here.

I’m gathering I’ve been missing something this whole time. How long have you two actually been in love with each other?

*Maitimo's head is spinning a bit as he realizes what's going on. Did Finno really not know how he felt about Aranya, after all these years? Maitimo feels shocked, hurt and guilty all at once. Shouldn't Finno have known him well enough to figure out he held Aranya in a higher esteem than all other ellyth? His brothers, after all, had easily picked up on it and harassed him about it. Or was Maitimo being a bad friend by not just coming out and saying it? But then again, he did have to keep his feelings a secret since their relationship was not allowed for so long.*

*His voice breaks a little.*
You really didn't know, Finno? I was trying to keep it a secret, yet my brothers pretty much all figured it out. So I guess I thought... you would too, since you know me so well, and I talked about her so much.

*Fingon picks up on the hurt in Maitimo’s voice and a knot forms in his stomach, getting the feeling his cluelessness has done damage here. He truly never had made any assumptions, but he should have at least read more into how often Maitimo wrote about her in their letters back and forth, how he would behave when he thought of her. How could he have missed it, something so obviously important to him! The hurt in Maitimo’s voice stabs at him, knowing he has been a bad friend for it. And this was supposed to be such a joyous occasion! He should have stopped talking sooner to prevent letting on his cluelessness, so Maitimo wouldn’t be hurt right now.*

*His face flushes with heat as he tries to explain, heart pounding.* I’ve always known you and Aranya were very close friends, but I guess it never really crossed my mind to think deeper about it. In all honesty, I’ve learned I can be rather blind to obvious hints of romance, as so my wife has told me at times when she was apparently trying to flirt with me. I truly never meant to hurt you, Maitimo, or you, Aranya. I’m so sorry I never noticed after all these years.

*internally* Stop talking. You’ve already ruined the mood enough.

*Maitimo feels even more guilty seeing as how he made Finno feel guilty. Guilt for everyone!*

I'm sorry too, brother, that I didn't just tell you. But with all the opposition we faced, first in Valinor *he avoids Fëanor's gaze* and then later in Himring, I couldn't be public with it for political and safety reasons... but I know I could have trusted you. I guess I thought you must have figured it out. My brothers told me I was being far too obvious about it, so I assumed you understood too.

*Curufin raises an eyebrow*
Seeing as how your six little brothers have all been carried around by you far more often than Findekáno here, I am not surprised.
For my part, I will say it is very easy to recognise all the nuances of a person's expression when you've frequently been in close proximity to their face since birth.

*approaches Maedhros and slowly raises his gaze to his face, shielding his face with a hand as though looking up a great distance*
...And though that proximity is not so close anymore, the memory of what is usual and unusual for you is still there.

Amrod: I feel like we’re being watched…

Fingon: You shouldn’t have had to tell me though. I should have picked up on it long ago. Even your brothers tried to point it out to me back when we were younger, and I just thought they were teasing you. Please forgive me for never noticing your true feelings towards her.

Yavanna: Oh, one of my dear sub-creations! *Yavanna waves a queenly hand.* The One was gracious. I remember singing for you... *Slips into memory.*

Laurinalótë: I think we've earned a new wedding guest. *Glances at the girdle of herself then at the tree-ish observer.* Do you think it could help... decorate?

*approaches Maedhros and slowly raises his gaze to his face, shielding his face with a hand as though looking up a great distance*
...And though that proximity is not so close anymore, the memory of what is usual and unusual for you is still there.
Maitimo: Come now, I'm not thaaaaat tall compared to you.

Aranya: *mimics Curufin by shielding her face as she gazes up at him* Yes you are.

Are you going to be tossed in the air as the wedding bouquet, Laurinalótë?
I've flown once, and I can do it again! *Demonstrates agile leaping amongst the four of whom's heads she resides upon.*

Yavanna, smiling softly as she turns to Older Maitimo: It was a bouquet by which you discovered the animation of her, was it not?

He isn't awfully tall. You're just pocket sized, Hína.
Aranya: I'M NOT A CHILD, I'VE BEEN OLD ENOUGH TO GET MARRIED FOR LITERAL CENTURIES, AND IF IT WEREN'T FOR THIS GUY BEING INSECURE ABOUT HIS OATH WE WOULD HAVE MARRIED CENTURIES AGO AND HAVE CHILDREN AND PROBABLY GRANDCHILDREN AT THIS POINT--

Maitimo: *to Tyelko* You triggered her on purpose, didn't you?
