Would Aragorn technically go Paladin when he becomes 👑King?

The moment he reclaims his sword and his rightful place as king. Hence royalty and the bloodline and has palace privileges. Means he gets upgraded in rank. From Ranger - Paladin

In the books he was always the heir of Elendil. In the movie he was ... some guy who 'chose exile', so I guess he could be whatever name in that story.

At what point does Aragorn become a trusted military leader? At Helm's Deep? The Stone of Erech? The Battle of the Pelennor Fields? Or, much earlier? I'm not sure.

@Eljorahir and @Starbrow, right -- traditionally, champion or retainer of a king, which is what confused me about @herlig9's question. The paladin isn't the king himself, but his servant.

That sense even survived the Age of Kings.

But been awhile since i read the book. So unsure how different his leadership is there vs the movies
