I mentioned that the War in the North video game inspired me to do a campsite. The ranger camp that overlooks the Shire is one of the places you can visit. I fell in love with the look and the music. Just loved everything about it! So I decided to create my own kind of. These are the videos we have done so far. It all started with a tent, a Boromir flag and a dream. 😂 Yes, there is some imagination that is needed. The tents aren't exactly period right, But it's what I can currently afford. But I really enjoy doing them. Hard to believe these first two video slideshows that started it all are coming up on ten years!

A lot has changed in the past ten years. My mom passed last year. She came to one of the campsite setups about 4 years ago. But it was cut short by a storm so we didn't get a whole lot of footage sadly. Miss her a lot.
These first two videos were shot the same year about a month apart. Sadly, my friend Chris, who is in these first two videos passed away earlier this year. Him and I camped overnight there on the second setup that year. But I have fond memories of that time and I am glad for the time I got with both of them.

Sorry for the long introduction. Here is the Sarn Ford camp in the game. It has Halbarad in it, which is pretty cool! I plan on shooting new footage of the game since they released it again so I can get better quality of the game footage.

And here are the first two videos.

Condolences on the passing of your mom and your friend.

Thanks for sharing your cool videos! Despite the rain, it has to be a nice memory of your mom when she camped with you!

I thought about doing a Middle-earthish photoshoot for my 4th age-themed fan-fiction I'm writing. I already kind of cosplay my character, but much work still needs to be done.

Thank you. Yeah it was. My dad came that year as well. He also came to this years, and said he honestly had a blast doing it. Which surprised me honestly.
That's cool! Yeah this camp is kind of a fanfiction as well, as you will see in one of the videos coming up. It's one of those if Boromir had lived and entered into the 4th age serving king Aragorn.

This is the next video we made the following year. I added a few more tents. We were not able to get much footage in the day and it was just me and my brother in law that year. We also stayed over night which was cool! Sadly the night pictures came out so so.

I made a comparison video that year showing shots from the game and the camp site.

Here is the next video we did. Despite the title, This was actually filmed in 2022. My brother in law did the editing and filming himself on this one. He got a drone so he handled all the filming this time. He always tries to avoid copyright so unlike me, he uses generic music, which I don't mind. Just a different approach. My mom and dad even came to this one. They really enjoyed it, which is something because they are not really Lord of the Rings fans. Sadly a thunderstorm arrived as you can tell by the clouds in some of the shots and cut the day short so we didn't get a lot of footage, especially close up footage. Still happy though for the memories. This was the only one mom got to come to before she passed last year.

Here is the camp we did earlier this year. Sadly it was very dry this year so it wasn't as green as I wanted. Really enjoyed this years though. This started because I wanted to do a thank you video to a couple that do a Middle Earth monthly letter club called Letters of Ithilien, ran by Shirefolktales. So I will also include that video here first then the camp video will be underneath.
