Rings of Power Season 2 news

... lacking the magic of the original Tolkien novels and of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, movies that grow in status with each passing year.
My experience about PJ is exactly the opposite. If this rise in stature has (as I suspect) to do with the steep downward spiral of "moving pictures" productions of the last two plus decades, then I'm glad the last film I paid for to see in a cinema was RotK.

Galadriel in the show joins Feanor and Fingolfin in the books with regard to their crazy single-mindedness.
The possible Fëanor connection popped into my mind when I read earlier posts about her motivation for revenge.
Of course Fëanor was off limits for RoP as a strictly First Age character.
But his utterly off-the-scale rabid lunacy could be attractive to some filmmakers (though their products would not be suitable for Amazon's target audience).
Sooooo ... transfer Fëanor's nuttiness to another character, and angle for the Xena Warrior Princess crowd ... bingo!

USA Today:
"'Lord of the Rings' series 'The Rings of Power' is beautiful but empty in Season 2"
"Unfortunately, all that promise has been utterly wasted on the confusing, directionless and emotionally bankrupt second season of "Rings of Power""

Seattle Times
"‘The Rings of Power: Season 2’ review: Forging a (mostly) better path"
"Of all the fantasy epics ever given life on screen, none will ever be as magnificent as Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” films. Visually stunning, emotionally expansive and richly detailed, it is about as good an adaptation of the work of J.R.R. Tolkien as one could hope for."
"Though it’s still troubled by some of the shallowness that preceded it, often falling flat in episodes dedicated to some of the more thinly written characters, it’s a rather welcome step up."

NPR:
"You’ve got questions about 'The Rings of Power' Season 2. We’ve got answers."
"How is it, overall?
Fun but frustrating. Some storylines zip ahead with vigorous purpose, but others crawl along or, worse, move in lazy circles as characters make weird choices designed to keep them locked in stasis until Season 3."
"Galadriel, for example, realizes she’s been deceived by Sauron, and certainly talks a big game about feeling introspective and remorseful about it, but we don’t see any of that onscreen – instead, she continues to bully everyone around her with the same tiresome my-way-or-the-highway attitude she always has."

These reviewers have seen the whole season already?

There are JRRT fans;
there are PJ fans;
there are Amazon fans by now, I'm guessing;
maybe the are Ralph Bakshi fans and Rankin/Bass fans.
You forgot the Russian theatre version, which I am a fan. :)
Joke aside, silly as it is, at least that adaptation had some heart and soul in it, unlike Rop.

Best LOTR adaptation, imho, is BBC radio series.
There is also one more nice radio adaptation... can't remember it's name.. it even had Tom in it.

@Olorgando
The production seemed uncertain about how to effectively integrate Galadriel into a meaningful quest. Instead of crafting a well-defined arc or purpose for her character, they opted to go with the flow, leaving the idea underdeveloped and lacking clarity. The result was a portrayal that felt superficial, without the depth or thoughtful planning needed to give her actions real significance or weight within the story.

I was limiting myself to the visual media adaptations on large and small screen (that I've either seen - Bakshi, PJ - or read about).
Theater adaptations could be legion, and I have heard and read about radio adaptations.
I have PJ and Bakshi on DVD, not sure if the Rankin/Bass products are also available, and what the future holds for Amazon or the Rohirrim anime.
My point was that all those people who have not read the books, or at least LotR, may be fans of whatever adaptation, but they are not fans of JRRT's.
