Hi all, I recently got into LOTR SBG, and I've been playing the Army of Lake-Town.
I just hired a dwarf, who is practically indestructible, did I pick an unwinnable army?
If not, what are some strategies you guys have found for an unmounted human army?
Thanks, ATI
So I have had discussions about Dothraki over at ASoIaF forum, and decided to write an article about Dothraki army. And then I kept writing. And kept writing, until I ended up with a four-part series.
Here be the Part 1 of series about our favorite lobotomized horse nomads...
Because the official Games Workshop LOTR miniatures are incredibly expensive compared to historical minis, I am using the following sets instead. Do you think they look right for the armies I'm using them for.
Dunlendings/Evil Hillmen...
For smiles, let's say that the Goblins and the Wargs didn't think the death of the Great Goblin was worth going so far east and waging a big battle, or, perhaps, somehow they didn't get the memo that Smaug was dead and didn't want to mess with the dragon they thought was still there. So that...
It was said that the Nazgul, or at least the Witch King for sure, were able to inspire terror that would frighten off all but the bravest of men. And we know that Sauron's human armies weren't immune to being terrified, as Aragorn was able to get the Oathbreakers to scare off Sauron's goons...
Hello guys, I would like to ask you a question that has been on my mind for a long time. According to my calculations, there are 25 wars in total in the war of the ring, including a war in the movie, which is not canon. In the wars of beleriand, there are a total of 22 wars. and beleriand, where...
I guess I first thought of this from a joke used in a "How it Should Have Ended" for the Hobbit movie (the third one) where Bilbo, who already has a magic ring, tells Thorin to keep the Mthril coat and so uses it to avoid being killed by Azog. While Azog was already dead in the books by this...
this time I am making a different discussion. As you all know, Tolkien never gave the number of armies in the wars in these two eras. So we do not have clear data about the army population in the wars in these two eras. We can only guess. Do you think the army population in the first era was...
What battles did Aragorn take part in when he served Thengel and Ecthelion under the pseudonym Thorongil? Are there any names for the wars Aragorn participated in in his early life, apart from his attack on the Umbar fleet?
host means two things.home owner and military army in ancient terms.Does the host used in middle earth articles mean army? For example, does the word host of noldor mean military army or home owner?
It’s my belief that Tolkien never wrote that Saruman had crossed bred Men with Orcs. That is just a line from the movies. I defy anyone to prove me wrong. There certainly were Orc females, and Saruman definitely could have helped speed up the process and added some additional powers of his own...
Managed to find Beren and Lúthien in the library! My little daughter was throwing a tantrum so I thought I would just pick the first book that doesn't look stupid and leave. And just as I decided it I saw Beren and Lúthien! It was a miracle lol.
So now I'm reading it and it's so interesting how...
