So I was watching Two Towers, theatrical...I'd only seen extended for the longest time, but grew weary of the bloating in it (in my opinion, the only film really served by the extended cut is Fellowship, but that's another debate). Anyway, it got to the Warg fight and when Theoden says, "All...

I recently received a Bluray Disk (BD) Extended Ed. (EE) set of the LOTR movies. I already had the boxed set of EE DVDs from years ago. So I figured I'd get rid of those and 'upgrade' to the new BD set I was given. Well I noticed on a popular retailer's site that the used prices on the boxed...

This thread is about developments in high definition DVDs. These new discs, coming out possibly as soon as the end of 2005, will revolutionize home viewing, along with the advent of high definition television. HDTV will replace the current version of television, just as color replaced b/w, and...

Does anyone know if there are any versions of Fellowship fo the ring and Twin Tower's in FULL screen and extended? Is there such a version? The only versions i seem to find when i try and buy the extended are wide screen. I did find 1 person that claimed he had both extended versions with fs/ws...

Does anyone watch the movie with the commentary on? Does it provide much insight? Is it worth it?

Ok, I'm not sure what I pressed or anything, but for some reason, in the middle of the TTT Extended DVD, it jumped to a special, hidden part or something. I got Peter Jackson's face telling me congrats, and that I'd just found some hidden part. Well, the hidden part I found was...

Comments on Evil in the EE DVD All right, they only flashed his name for one minute and I don't remember it, but he was one of the commentators. He had written a book, something about Tolkien and modernity? Something like that, but he made a comment I thought should be discussed. He was...

So sayeth Ian McKellan on Jonathan Ross last night (UK chat show) and will contain: Word is that New Line are balking at the price for another Extended Edition, and may be farming out the FX to El Cheapo American FX House Inc rather than the high-quality excesses of WETA... our scooper...

On Movie Disc 1, go to the last Chapter Selection grouping and press down all the way - a Little Ring will appear next to the "** New Scene" key. Click it and watch a foul-mouth Gollum accept a MTV Movie Award. It's hillarious! I know this is ROTK, but I figuresd some people would like it...

I read somewhere here that there will be no deluxe DVD box set of all 3 films next year. I must profess I'm amazed at this, I would have thought it a given. In fact it has been the sole reason I have held off buying the Extended Edition DVD set so far (although I bought them for my brother at...

I expected very little from FOTR and fell in love with the movie immediately, it was as if lost friends, dimly remembered, were suddenly brought to life. I hoped for much from TTT but alas I went away disappointed ,of course, I was waiting at the door of my video store to get the TT DVD. I had...

Greetings everyone. I heard from a friend at work that there exists a case that is created to hold all The Lord Of The Rings DVDs once they are released. He told me that when he bought the 4 disc set, on the competition forms that were enclosed, there were instructions on where to send an...
