Technically, he was granted immortality, choosing to be like the Elves, but as he wasn't full Elf (but also not full Man), was it possible he could have stayed in Middle Earth forever without either dying (like Men) or fading (like Elves)?

Why Was Elrond Considered ‘Mighty among BOTH elves and men’ ? One I get, the other not so much. IMHO, Elrond is the powerhouse personality in LoTR. He has it all: strength, kindness, wisdom, and of course his fantastic lineage is the stuff of perfection, and he is referred to as being mighty...

Well my question is does it ever say anywhere how tall Elrond was. I ask because his father must have been very tall because his grandfather Tuor and both his great grandfathers Turgon & Thingol were extremly tall. Any opinions anyone interested in height of Elves and Edain ? THANKS

It seems that once the Elves got so far in their geneologies, it was no longer so clear as to who was of which clan (with all the mixing and inter-marrying going on). However, was it ever explicitely stated to which Elrond belonged? On his father's side, there is certainly much Noldorin blood...

Ok in the movie, Elrond took Isildur to the Cracks of Doom to destroy the Ring, and if memory serves right, he did it in the book too didn't he? Elrond knew that this Ring would bring the downfall of many nations and of the end of times for the elves, so why didn't he just kill Isildur and...
