How to construct names in both Quenya and Sindarin.

This is mostly idle curiosity, but I haven't found (and possibly this is due to my impatience with research) a definitive answer in how one should go about constructing names in either of these incomplete languages. I find both to be lovely languages, though I admit I am partial to Quenya for...

Would 🧝Elvish Rope Hurt an 🧌Orc?

We all know that Sam's rope burns Gollum (many seem to say this is because Gollum is evil, but some say that it's because he's been connected to the Ring for as long as he has.) Would the rope have the same effect on an orc (because, as we know, orcs are evil) as it did on Gollum?

Masculine, feminine and unisex names in 🧝Elvish

There are certain gender indications in Tolkien's Elvish languages what comes to names. For example, "-el", "-iel" or "-wen" (maid) suffixes are often considered as feminine: Nerdanel, Galadriel or Arwen. "-ion" suffix is most definitely masculine, meaning "son of": Ingwion is "son of Ingwë"...

Is there an 🧝elvish working class?

Are there elvish maids or farmers? If not, who waits the table of the elvish aristocracy? Who grows the wheat for their bread? Who washes the dishes? It's somehow hard to imagine Elrond baking his own bread and washing the dishes after the meal.

A little confusion about Qwenya Tengwar

My one isn't a very important Problem, but I wanted to find out the answer by Qwenya mode, to make the Vowel come after the Consonant, the Tethar goes on the Tengwar, and to make it before, it goes under... ...But in cases like "nyä" you use to put the Númen and two dots to rapresent the...

    🧝Elvish Pronunciation Guide

Hi again, mae govannen! I have taken this pronunciation guide directly from the back of one of Tolkien's books, I can't remember which one exactly, it's been a while since I wrote it down. Hope this helps! Consonants C always has the value of k, never of s; thus Celebros is ‘Kelebros’, not...
