I'm a little bit pressed for time right now, otherwise I'd lay out my case. Anyways, it might be interesting to hear what you all think of the matter first. Were there Mordor orcs at Parth Galen other than Grishnakh? Obviously there were Misty Mountain Maggots (MMMs) and the redoubtable...

In the Silmarillion, it says that all races were divided at Dagorlad, except Elves. Does this mean there were good orcs?

I've only seen the film once (~month ago) and may have just imagined it but the commanding orc (aka Gothmog possibly or Tumor Orc) at the siege seems to have a missing finger or so I thought (maybe it was a mangled hand...?). Did I imagine that or mis-remember or did I see correctly? What if any...

In The Two Towers Saruman says that Orcs were once elves but they were corrupted and became evil and changed in appearance too. I have read the trilogy just once last year and don't remember what was said about this there. And I intend to read the trilogy again as soon as I own the books and...

Just so I'm clear, could someone please explain to me the problem people have with the Uruk-Hai who detonates the bomb. To my eyes it seemed like an Uruk Beserker carrying a torch loaded with the same substance as in the bombs runs through the army, gets shot twice, reaches the wall and dives...

The view is commonly held that Orcs are distorted Elves, but this passage of Morgoth's Ring suggests otherwise... But from this passage in The Silmarillion, it is taken that Orcs are distorted Elves... Orcs: Men, or Elves? :confused:

It is my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that Orcs were originally, um, "bred" from Elves who had been captured by Melkor... I guess he could not create life but could corrupt what already existed. So I'm wondering just how much they have in common... specifically, do Orcs not die of...
