I don't know if this is old news as I havn't been in this forum for a while, but I just read an article that says the extra 43 minutes on the dvd will contain alot of funny deleted scenes featuring merry and pippin.
to this news, moon cloud sez: yay!
When I first saw the movie I was upset with the way Jackson handled Pippin and Treebeard. It seemed that Pippin wanted to go to Isengard to get Treebeard to see the destruction and hence get the ents to fight Saruman. However, after seeing it three more times, I am wondering...
Did PJ intend...
My favourite Pippin moment is when He has climbed up treebeard and he calls down to merry, looks to the tree(Treebeard opens his eyes),Pippin looks away, then the realization that it is no mere tree washes over Pippin and the look that comes over his face is so adorable, but then agian thats...
The greater impact
Lets break it down among merry and Pippin:
Pippin was obviously the factor in escaping the Uruk-Hai...meaning he basically destroyed isengard.;)
Merry helped slay the witch-king...a deed that can't be matched unless someone cut the ring from saurons hand or...
This is extremely far-fetched but bear with me anyways. Could we consider Pippin to be involuntarily wise or helpful? I have 2 examples of how this could possibly be the case,

I was just thinking about this recently, but did you notice all the little events slipped into the film that made Merry and Pippin appear sooooo loyal to Frodo and so determined to protect him at all costs. The first event was when they were hiding under the bank out of site of the Blackrider...
I was re-reading "The Palantir" chapter of TTT. It is told that Pippin stole it from sleeping Gandalf. Now it occurred to me: "How can this happen, that a small Hobbit is able to steal a magic object as the Palantir from a mighty Wizard and Istari as Gandalf?
Is it possible that Gandalf was...
I was re reading TT yesterday when in the Uruk-hai chapter , Pippin tells us that he gets a vision as such that Aragorn is running behind them and is bending down to pick something up ?
Huh?
Pippin must have some powers.
Now we know that the Númenóreans have these powers (as such) but why...
Pippin's clumsyness in Moria
I just got an idea fom the thread "Gandalf's anger".This might sound silly but here goes.
When Pippin accidentally tosses the bucket into the well, what exactly are the consequences of the noise the bucket makes (what a stupid question,I know:D ). But seriously...
Hey, has anyone heard of the Darwin Awards? Well these are the Pippin awards, where you can nominate yourself or others who have done really stupid things, yet somehow manage to survive them!
I nominate myself, because last night I accidentally superglued myself to my cat! (It is a long, sad...
