Hello all, I have a question about the content for Of Tuor and His Coming to Gondolin, as published in The Unfinished Tales, compared to the corresponding reprinted inclusion in the book The Fall of Gondolin. Are they the same? Exactly? Or are there omissions between one or the other version...

Spotted it at good price and could not resist.

Looks like a good one to have!

Does anyone know where one can buy Unfinished Tales in paperback with the older cover in the image (new or used in fair condition)? Hi, I have a copy of the 2014 Harper Collins paperback edition of Unfinished Tales, which has a kind of stylized flower design on the cover (see attachment). This design has been used since the 6th impression of the 1998 Harper Collins paperback edition...

Unfinished Tales - Does an illustrated version exist? Hello all, after some time I revisited Tolkiens work and I have fallen in love with it the same way it happened all those years ago. No I recently finished The Children of Hûrin (illustrated by Alan Lee) and the Silmarillion (ill. Ted...

No forum for it?

I have decided to make a new thread for this so that each story can be voted for separately, and more than one option can be chosen. I moved the old one to the Archives. I voted for The Istari in the previous poll, and though it remains a close second, my favourite one actually is The History...

(can you tell I'm in the middle of Unfinished Tales....?) 1. In A Description Of Numenor there is the following quote: What's an ell? Or, how long is it? 2. In the same tale, it talks of Eagles at Meneltarma. Are these eagles the same as the ones in Middle Earth, related, or just...

In Narn I Hin Hurin, (on page 96 of my edition) are the words: Does this mean he could communicate directly with animals? Kind of like Radagast? What are your thoughts?

UT: Of Amroth....... I was reading the part in UT when it says that no one really knows who Amroth's parents are because Tolkien says two different things at two different times. So who do you believe are the true parents of Amroth the elven King of Lórien?

Seems to me they have about the same stories in them? Or am i wrong?
