RP 🎲 Cap'n Nelyafinwë's Pirate Crew

🎲 Role Playing Game
*A message appears in a little glass bottle above Captain Nelyafinwë's head.*
*Pirate Curvo notices out of the corner of his eye and turns around*

Uh... cap'n? You got a little... somethin' up there above yer head. An' I've never seen bottled messages float on air before, so I'd be careful if I were you, lest it be some dark art to ensnare us...

*A little scroll of paper, m-in-a-bottle style, comes out and unravels. It reads:*

Yer Cap'n isn't responding. What would ye fancy to do?

*Close the program

*Wait
*Curvo looks at this really suspiciously. What would 'close the program' mean? Close down this thought, or close down the Cap'n entirely?*

*...however, waiting hasn't really done anything so far - he seems quite stuck*

*tentatively, he pokes the paper where it says 'close the program'* 😐

*Takes the clumsy Curvo in his arms and enjoys the hug*

It was a summon from higher powers, my brother. I just could not ignore the call.

Tyelko?! You're back!! *Kano watched as Curvo came and hugged him, and this brought him back to the verge of tears, it was so good to have them all heare*

We missed you so much T-T *Kano sniffs loudly and wipes his face with Nelyo's handkerchief*
My dear Makalaurë. Indeed I am back. Spent and in need of a good rest, but back I am. Eru...he had work for me.

*Grimaces, thinking about the mountain of paperwork he had done*

*Tiny Ghost stares in wide-eyed alarm at the captain.* "Ahoy, there, milord?! Ahoy?" *He waves a hand in front of Maedhros' face.* "YO HO HO AN' A BOTTLE OF WINE!"

*He looks back at the others and shrugs helplessly as Curvo taps "close program".* "If'n he folds up like this here paper, we oughta put him on a shelf, careful-like, til 'e fancies it's time t'wake up. What say you, mate Curvo?"

*Curvo looks Cap'n Nelyo up and down*
Even folded up, I wager he'd be a bit big to fit on a shelf, lil ghostling matey. *hic* P'raps a nice rest on 'is bunk instead.

...And we'd best be keepin' that soup away from him. Methinks it started this whole... *he waves a hand at the error message in a bottle* thing.

*Amras snuggles into the ghost hug* Thank ye, Fingon. It been a mighty long time, but I still miss 'im. Least I still got the rest o' ye to keep me company, aye?
Aye, lil’ matey. Ya got yer fam’ly right ‘ere with ya. 🫂

*He nods, heading down the passage* Maybe it would help if we got him some of the soup.
*floats down the hallway after Amras* Good idea! He’d prob’ly appreciate somethin’ to eat. I’d help ya carry his bowl, but 9 times out a 10 I can’t hold a thing. 😅 *holds up his vaguely translucent hands in front of him to make his point*

*Fingon stops abruptly beside Amras, confused and concerned at his sudden reaction. He sniffs the air.* What? Morgoth barf? Haru’s soup? Far as I was aware, it was normal. That’s why I offered it to ya.

…Ta be honest, I can no longer smell anything as a ghost, so if it be rancid, I am sorry ya almost ate it. Hopefully no one else has either, especially the Captain. 😥

*Cap'n Nelyafinwë closed his eyes after Matey Curufin chose to Close the Program. He has been still and silent for a few minutes, but then he suddenly opens his eyes and starts singing.*

🎵Soon, may the Silmarils come
To end our killin' and raids and runs!
One day, when the Oath's fulfilled
To Valinor we'll gooooo!🎵

*He looks around and notices everyone staring at him. Not seeming to have any memory of shutting down or singing the song, he speaks up.* Ahoy there, mateys! Glad to see ye all here!

*he sniffs the air and makes a face* Blimey, what is that smell? Whatever it is, we must find it and clean it up!

*he distributes cleaning supplies to everyone-- mops, vacuums, baby wipes, feather dusters, rum... you name it.*

(Everyone, feel free to have your character receive whichever type of cleaning supply you like best/think is the funniest for your character! It can be one of the items I described or something else. That something can be completely ridiculous. The Cap'n probably still has some rum in his system, after all!)

*Relieved to see the Cap'n awake and functioning, Tiny Ghost speeds off towards the cleaning supplies and tries to seize a bottle of misting water. He can only seize the mist.*
"Alrighty, mates!" *He cries, scooping out mist by the handfuls,* "Time to clean ye foul odors! Smite the stench! Smite the stench!" *He flies from one side of the ship to the other, searching for stink he cannot smell.*

*Curvo... takes the rum*

*Ever since the pot of soup with its associated smells was brought up on deck, his faint alcohol-induced blush had been replaced by a rather more greenish colour*

*He takes out a handkerchief and soaks it in the rum, before folding it in half and tying it over his nose and mouth*

*he sighs in relief*
Ahh... that's better.

*...however, the alcoholic fumes seem to be... affecting the already tipsy Curvo even further*

*With cap'n bro's song stuck in his head, he begins singing it to himself as he walks over to the source of the stench, the steaming soup pot, with a bowl in hand*

*He dips the bowl in the soup, fills it, then tosses it over the rail into the sea, as though bailing out water after a storm*

*And he continues singing as he keeps on bailing the mushy hull muffin soup, his wooden leg clunk-ing unsteadily with his drunken gait*

*Glorfindel, eyeing the proceedings from a bird's eye view where he's remained on the sail, furrows his brow thoughtfully.*

He dips the bowl in the soup, fills it, then tosses it over the rail into the sea, as though bailing out water after a storm
Ah... I wouldn't do this if I were you... *Is recalling his trip across the blue with the similarly titled wizards.*

*Underneath the water, a certain being has been watching the proceedings and getting increasingly fed up...

Ossë is not impressed with the Junk Dump™️. He starts getting fussy. And when we say fussy, we mean FUSSY... entailing a series of waves swirling and kicking up and tossing the ship to and fro. Bursting to the surface in a mighty roar of water falling, he booms
.* WHO UNDER ARDA'S SEA LEVEL DARES DEFILE MY DOMAIN?"

*Glorfindel winces from his position and swings from the sail masts back and forth like a modern trapeze artist.* Too late. Hold on to your pet rocks!

*Pirate Curvo jumps a bit, and stumbles back. But he is otherwise completely unfazed, his self-preservation instincts brought down to practically zero thanks to the rum.*

*He flings the bit of soup currently in his bowl into the water, with attitude*

Curvo, emphatically, with a bold Fëanorian glare:

*The movement of the ship combines with the smell of the soup concoction to create a rather unpleasant effect in Amras' stomach. He stumbles to the rail, reaching out just before Osse's appearance. He tries to remain upright but is catapulted into the water. *
Help me, mateys! I don't plan on visiting Davy Jones' locker yet!

Ossë:

...*Proceeds to full on belly laugh, resulting in even more wavestorms...*

*Glorfindel whistles long and low, a timber of it ringing to the tune of the Ulumuri.*

*Summoned by Glorfindel's call, a second figure materializes in seafoam beside him, cradling a bundle of Fëanorian. It's Uinen!* Ossë my love, let us restore serenity to the sea.

Ossë:

...*Proceeds to full on belly laugh, resulting in even more wavestorms...*

*Curvo somehow manages to keep his footing, though he turns a bit green again at the combined effect of alcohol and stormy weather*

*hic!* 'Fraid not. *gestures at his handkerchief mask* I do this for the sake of me senses, and the gen'ral wellbeing of all crew on deck. *glances down at Amras in Uinen's arms* ...and off deck.

*clumsy salute to Uinen*
'ppreciate you catchin' my bro, m'lady of the seas. *hic*

*Summoned by Glorfindel's call, a second figure materializes in seafoam beside him, cradling a bundle of Fëanorian. It's Uinen!* Ossë my love, let us restore serenity to the sea.
*Amras stops flailing and settles into Uinen's embrace. As his breathing settles, he looks up at her and cracks a sheepish grin* Thank you, my lady. As for your husband over there though:
