I thought I'd share my discovery of this website which seems to provide excellent resources for Tolkienologists. There is a very good review of the main book on Hollywood Jesus in the Lord of the Rings section.

In the Journal of the Tolkien Society, Amon Hen, No 186 is a review of this book Untangling Tolkien, the review is provided by a certain Heidi Ortman.

It seems that Mrs. Ortman has only a very few positive things to say about this book....

Her review ends thus:

In conclusion, then, and to halt any further anger on my part, this book should be used with caution and as a reference book only. Read it all or believe all that you read within it at your peril- let's hope that not too many Tolkien film fans get corrupted by the nonsense in parts of this book. I would advise those film fans simply to read The Lord of the Rings and make up their own minds, or if you've already done that twenty times, just go to your local cinema and watch Return of the King or even Finding Nemo, because, believe me, it is time infinitely better spent than with the majority of this book.
