Guess the Definition

Body armour that covers the torso (front and back) can go down to mid thigh (i believe) and I think there are "sleeves" to it that might go down to the elbows. It typically made out of chain maille.

(I'm stating all this as fact... but I'm really guessing a bit from memory 😄)

Oh, I recongize that, visually speaking! True, I don't know the actual name for that piece of armor, but I remember what it looks like!

Yes, although it can also go to the knees, or even the ankles. Although it gets progressively heavier the more it covers!

Fun fact! If you make a mighty leap forward when wearing a hauberk of mail that extends well past the knees, the momentum of the leap will swing the mail "skirt" forward after your feet land on the ground and pull you forward with it. Quite disconcerting if you aren't prepared for it!

Not a BBQ that I know of, maybe you are thinking of braise, like on the oven setting?
Nor is it a type of tool.

I'll give an (obscure) hint. Remove 2 of three vowels to reveal a set of singular items that cover two things. Then lower your eyes and apply the logic.

C'mon! There are only three possible words you could construct if you remove 2 vowels from braies. Which one describes a set of items that each cover two things? I'll make it easier for you. It's not bris, that would be referencing the act of removing one (quite personal) thing.

So is it an item of clothing?

It's underwear! Not certain exactly which kind, but it's got to be underwear.

Clothing. Outerwear. One item of clothing that covers two things. Those two things are lower than breasts.

Here's an extra hint. What is this creature doing in this GIF? GIF

I believe this word has to do with a kind of anger, or focused hate. Not entirely sure, though.
