Hair Dye, Cloning and General Epic Chaoticness

Welcome to the Chaotic RP of TTF! This is a fun, spontaneous, lighthearted, and most importantly, chaotic RP which is available to anyone who wishes to join. While our primary goal is to have fun, we have a few rules in order to keep some method to the madness.
  • Firstly, each character belongs to their respective TTF user. In other words, you can't write for a character if someone else has claimed that character. If you're new to the thread, please ask the group which characters are available before you claim one.
  • Even though this thread is chaotic and spontaneous, we do have a storyline going. If you're new to the thread, please read the most recent few pages, or more, so you're caught up on what's going on.
  • Make sure to interact with other people's characters. Don't just go off and write your own thing without interacting with anybody.
  • Don't completely ignore or change the storyline.
  • At the same time, please be flexible if someone introduces a new turn of the plot. This is not a carefully planned RP, and it needs to have flexibility for any chaotic new thing someone comes up with (within reason-- it does need to connect to the main story at least loosely).
  • If you are writing for multiple characters, use a script format to indicate which character is speaking. Use asterisks* to denote action. For example:
    • Maitimo: *tries to shake Celeraccoon off his arm* STOP BITING ME, TYELKO!
  • Try to keep spam to a minimum. I would define "spamming" in this thread as writing more than a page over the course of a few hours. (This can be a tough one to follow, I know.) But spamming makes it hard for other people to keep up.
  • At the same time, if you're going to be absent for an extended period of time, we recommend writing your character out temporarily (such as having them disappear or go somewhere) so other people can continue while you're gone.
That's all I can think of for now. If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to ask!

*Huan folds his ears back at Nessa’s angry accusations, becoming defensive when she pulls her sword out by raising his hackles and growling while baring his teeth*
*”Huan doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Huan has never met your scent-twin before. She seems to think Huan did to her what Huan did to you long ago.”*

*Finno, who had been standing between Tyelko and Nessa, jumps back hastily when the swords are drawn and aimed at each other* Nessa! They don’t mean us any harm! Don’t be like your father!

*Fingon jumps in too, hoping this doesn’t escalate into a fight* Um, Curvo, mind pausing your conversation with you over there to help sort this out? Did Laurinalótë’s magic do this too?

*Íri's hand goes to her own dagger immediately, pulling it out and pointing it at the newcomers*
Just who are you?

*Finrod looks back and forth between Nessa and Tyelko before deciding that with Maedhros gone, he is by far the most diplomatic of the lot. He rushes towards them, hair still elevating in the air*
Now now! Calm down. Let's... let's just take a moment before we start accusing each other. Íri says they're not clones, so there must be an explanation.
*Nessa's eyes softens when she sees him, dropping her sword and rushing towards him, engulfing him in a hug*
*Finrod freezes in his place before patting her back awkwardly*

*Tyelko's eyes widen. If this ... nís is in any way related to them, there's no way she would be this close to an Arafinwian. There must be a mistake. Agreeing with Fingon, he calls Curufin over*
Do you know what's happening bro?

*both Curufins look over as they hear their name*
Curvo: Laurinalótë? Is that the flower?
Curufin: Indeed it is. She enjoys my puns.
Curvo: *raises eyebrows* A plant of—
Curufin: —horticulture, yes.
*the conversation is not pausing whatsoever*

Curufin: Ah, apologies, bro. *points thumb at Curvo* I'm a very entertaining conversation partner. *he spots Finrod being hugged by Nethien and frowns a bit*
Curvo: *also spots Finrod, nods at his cousin* 'sup, Findaráto.
Curufin: *looks at Curvo curiously* It seems not all family dynamics have remained exactly the same...

Curufin: *shakes his head and turns back to Celegorm* Anyway. Tyelko, may I present Little Curvo. He's me, from an alternate universe. We figured this out while you lot were arguing. *grins* He is accompanied by his cousin Findekáno, and his sister Nessanië. Who is their version of you.

*meanwhile Curvo goes to tap Nethien on the shoulder*
Curvo: Nessa. *she breaks away from the hug and turns to him* These people are us. We have stumbled into an alternate reality, it seems. But your 'twin' is rather different than mine. *points at Celegorm* His name is Tyelkormo. And this is his Huan, not ours.
Curufin: *overhears* This is our Findaráto, too. But you can keep him if you want. *smirks at Finrod* I'm sure he won't mind being our welcome gift.
Curvo: *suppresses a snort of laughter*

Curufin: *through a grin, sounding as though he were talking to a young Celebrimbor* Come and say hi to your new brother, Little Curvo.
Curvo: *sighs as he approaches, then glances back at Nethien to explain* He's older than me.

Curvo: *looks up at Tyelko* ... Hi.
*he raises an eyebrow at Curufin, as if to say 'there, I said it'*

(It's not like they haven't already been theorising [a.k.a. daydreaming] about the possibilities of such things in their own time. 😂)
(I feel so precisely and exactly called out in real life except within our universe, of course. 😅)

Did Laurinalótë’s magic do this too?
Laurinalótë: Even I cannot comprehend the full extent of my powers!

Yavanna: It is well you cannot.

Laurinalótë: ...

If there are currently three active sets of myself out and about, within the same universe, I can accept this.

Aulë: I shudder to think what your alternate universe persona would be like.

Laurinalótë: Wait a minute, are you the same in an alternate universe?

Aulë, whispering: There's no Fautuatar there!

Laurinalótë: Oh, the horror! *Coughs.*

*both Curufins look over as they hear their name*
Curvo: Laurinalótë? Is that the flower?
Curufin: Indeed it is. She enjoys my puns.
Curvo: *raises eyebrows* A plant of—
Curufin: —horticulture, yes.

And I think I know where I fit in best! 😄 *Takes a sweeping bow atop Curufin's head and addresses the other Curvo.* Welcome, Curvo the Younger, to our humble abode-- I mean universe.

And I think I know where I fit in best! 😄 *Takes a sweeping bow atop Curufin's head and addresses the other Curvo.* Welcome, Curvo the Younger, to our humble abode-- I mean universe.
*Curvo looks a bit surprised at being suddenly addressed by a flower, but thinks 'Curvo the Younger' has rather a nicer ring to it... especially as it is already true in his own universe, the elder Curvo being his father*
*he smiles slightly and inclines his head*
Curufin: Ah, apologies, bro. *points thumb at Curvo* I'm a very entertaining conversation partner. *he spots Finrod being hugged by Nethien and frowns a bit*

Just who are you?
*Finno, concerned at her lack of recognition, holds his hands up in a show of peace* Sister, it’s me! Don’t you know your own brother?

*Nessa's eyes softens when she sees him, dropping her sword and rushing towards him, engulfing him in a hug*
*Fingon watches this with surprise, over what familiarity and warmth she shows to Finrod*

from an alternate universe.
*Fingon’s eyes widen in shock at such a revelation* An alternate universe? So they really are us, and not some elaborate efforts on Morgoth’s part to duplicate us, after his failed attempt with Maitimo?

…That explains a lot, actually. But how did they get here?

Finno: *shrugs* Your guess is as good as mine. But if this isn’t our world, then… that means you aren’t my actual sister, Íri. 🥺 *his face becomes a little sad that he has not actually found his missing sister*
Question: Is your Atar still alive?

Fingon, caught off-guard by such a strange query: What?

Finno, quickly retracting before this becomes awkward: Never mind. 👀
*quickly changes the subject*
How were you flying just a bit ago? I thought you were a shimmery Eagle!

Fingon: *laughs at being thought of such, and points to the sentient flower on Curufin’s head* Laurinalótë’s glitter pollen! Apparently it can allow us to fly. See?
*jumps up and floats over Finno, flipping upside down and back up beside him, then plays with Íri’s levitating hair*

And this is his Huan, not ours.
*Huan looks between Tyelko and Nessa, then snuffles Tyelko’s hair a little, to reinforce this is his Tyelko*

*Four silhouettes appear in the distance, all riding horseback: Maitimo, Fëanor, Aranya, and an unlikely companion: Caranthir.*

*Maitimo looks visibly exhausted, but unharmed. Some of Laurinalotë's flowers remain in his hair. There is a glint of excitement in his eyes despite his weariness.*

*Fëanor and Aranya both look intensely peeved. Perhaps they're not so different after all.*

*Caranthir looks tired, too, and very sheepish.*

Fëanor: Alatulië, all! We have returned, all safe and sound! I'm sure you all are wondering what has happened, but rest assured that no one was hurt. Morifinwë, though, has some explaining to do. *nudges him to the front of the group*

*Caranthir awkwardly steps forward, his face flushing even redder than usual.*
I'm sorry, everyone. I didn't think this would cause such chaos.

Maitimo: That's the key. You didn't think.

*Caranthir shoots him a look, but continues:*
So, as you all know, with my line of work, I get very busy at this time of year doing all the tax work for my kingdom. And I am very, VERY short on competent help. These past two years I had to fire basically my entire team of preparers, even though I was truly desperate for help. So anyway, I know Nelyo is competent and detail-oriented and actually knows how to PROCESS WHAT HE'S READING. Which is more than I can say for the vast majority of the idiots I've hired in the past. So, I wrote to Nelyo, asking him to help me out during the tax season, and he agreed.

*He continues:* Things got busy earlier than expected this year, so I didn't have time to send a letter all the way here and ask Nelyo to come early, so, I sent my favorite pet eagle to come pick him up.

Maitimo: Literally. 😑

Caranthir: He was pretty mad at me when he arrived in my lands, telling me he thought he was getting kidnapped by Morgoth again and yada yada yada. He had a full on panic attack.

*Aranya holds Maitimo's arm and glares daggers at Moryo.*

Caranthir: I said I was sorry, okay?! How many times do I need to say it? Anyway, once Nelyo calmed down enough to be rational, we agreed to write back here and tell all of you what happened, since he pointed out you would be worried. But... as it turned out, there was a massive problem in the postal system causing all mail to get rerouted to Doriath.

*cinematic cut to Thingol in Doriath wading through piles and piles of mail, on the phone with the Beleriand postal service* For the fifth time, I'd like to SPEAK TO THE MANAGER! *another bag of mail falls from the ceiling and showers his head with letters* *he shakes his head in disgust and peels the exact letter from Caranthir off his face*

*he reads it out loud*
"Dear Everyone: Maitimo is safe helping me with the tax season and has not been captured. Sincerely, Morifinwë Carnistir." ...That doesn't sound important.

*He puts it in the paper shredder. The paper shredder is overloaded and spews confetti-like paper shreds everywhere. Lúthien is rolling around in it and laughing and trying to make a paper snowman*

Lúthien: Ada! I need glue! Or Mod Podge!

*Thingol sighs long-sufferingly*

*cinematic cut back to the current scene. Caranthir continues:*
So, we thought you had all been successfully informed of Nelyo's whereabouts.

Maitimo: Um, I kept pointing out how I found it odd that nobody responded. Not even with "K" or anything.

Caranthir: I don't know, I don't usually respond to every little thing. But anyway, the tax season was long and exhausting but successful. We didn't know there was a problem--

Maitimo: You didn't know there was a problem--

Caranthir: --until Atar and Aranya showed up, as enraged as though they were storming the gates of Angband, and I... found out... what a big mess this all was. So, though I've apologized repeatedly to the three of them, I have not apologized yet to all of you, my brothers and Fingon and various friends, cousins and distant relatives. Will you forgive my communication errors? I'd argue the postal system is in more need of forgiveness than I am, though.

Maitimo: And even though I'm the victim here, I still should have told you guys as soon as I found out I was going to Caranthirland for a while. I've missed you all terribly, and I'm sorry for all the grief and anxiety you must have all suffered.

Fëanor: There is also something else we have to announce. After spending much time with-- *he blinks and does a double take as he realizes there appears to be two of everyone, and a random blonde elleth who looks oddly like Tyelko* What in all Arda-- ARE YOU KIDS CLONING PEOPLE AGAIN?!

Curufin: Not at all. He's younger. *points at Curvo*
Curvo: *on the verge of tearing up* Atar?

Curufin: *suddenly looking faintly awkward* Aaaand... as you can see, he's from an alternate universe, where you are still in Mandos.

Laurinalótë: Alternate universe family is still family. *Waves at herself over on Maitimo's head * I hope you didn't get into too much trouble.

Laurinalótë: You just heard the trouble yourself. I was an innocent bystander there. And let me tell you... It was CHAOS. I didn't even speak, just listened.

Laurinalótë: Us talking is the least of their attention span right now.

*Aulë and Yavanna step forward.*

Aulë: Welcome, Fëanorians of the Alternate Universe. You have been brought here for reasons even the Valar cannot foretell.

Yavanna: Yet you have come in the time precisely when meant you were, for these things occurred not by happen-chance.

Curufin: Not at all. He's younger. *points at Curvo*
Curvo: *on the verge of tearing up* Atar?

Curufin: *suddenly looking faintly awkward* Aaaand... as you can see, he's from an alternate universe, where you are still in Mandos.
*Fëanor is secretly not complaining about this. If there's going to be two of anyone, it might as well be his favorite son, his Dad Jr.*

Come here, sons. *bear hugs them and aggressively rumples their hair*

*Tyelko takes some steps towards Maitimo before throwing himself in his arms, tearing up a bit*
I'm going to kill Moryo.
Maitimo: Aww, it's okay, Tyelko. I'm sorry we caused everyone such a scare, but we're all okay. I sure missed you, though. *hugs him back*

*Nessa steps back when Maitimo doesn't give the same strange looks to the her male look alike, glancing towards Fëanor and Caranthir*
Atar?... Moryo?
Fëanor: I don't believe we're from the same universe, but I always wanted a daughter, so you can come here too. *opens up his arms*

*after that moment, he uses his Booming Dad Voice to yell at everyone*

NOW! I did say we have another announcement! Do any of you lot want to hear it or not?

*Maitimo and Aranya smile*

NOW! I did say we have another announcement! Do any of you lot want to hear it or not?
Laurinalótë, stage whispering: Now there's a way to command attention. *Coughs, as her petals form a knowing stance.*

*Aulë and Yavanna exchange looks, already knowing what the announcement is going to be. They hold each other's hands as they wait for the announcement.*

*takes small steps towards them and eventually joins the hug. She had missed her father so much, the closer parent to her. If her mother didn't want her, she had two Fëanor who loved her. And two Curvos, which was a bonus.*
Maitimo: Aww, it's okay, Tyelko. I'm sorry we caused everyone such a scare, but we're all okay. I sure missed you, though. *hugs him back*
*Snuggles and nips his shoulder a bit before jumping once he heard Fëanor's voice. He looks at Maitimo's smiling face before looking at Aranya's, frowning in suspicion*
What have you been up to?

*Nessa jumps a little too, before composing herself and listening attentively.*

*Finrod and Íri share a knowing look and Íri joins Tyelko and Maitimo in the hug, whispering a congratulations in her cousin's ear*

*Fëanor is secretly not complaining about this. If there's going to be two of anyone, it might as well be his favorite son, his Dad Jr.*

Come here, sons. *bear hugs them and aggressively rumples their hair*
Curufin: *thinks his father hugging two of him is hilarious and chuckles a bit*
Curvo: *buries face in Fëanor's shoulder*

Fëanor: I don't believe we're from the same universe, but I always wanted a daughter, so you can come here too. *opens up his arms*
*takes small steps towards them and eventually joins the hug. She had missed her father so much, the closer parent to her. If her mother didn't want her, she had two Fëanor who loved her. And two Curvos, which was a bonus.*
Curufin: *grins at her* Welcome to the chaos, nétha Nessa.

*after that moment, he uses his Booming Dad Voice to yell at everyone*

NOW! I did say we have another announcement! Do any of you lot want to hear it or not?

*Maitimo and Aranya smile*
Curufin: *notices the smile and immediately guesses what this is about*
Curvo: *has still not let go of Fëanor, but turns his face to the side a bit so he can see what's happening*
