do elves really mtach like that??? or do they , to quote the Bangles "walk like an Egyptian"??? :D

lilhobo your threads are a hopeless garble of half finished thought, mispelled words, and bad logic. Plz explain this travesty, and then I can refute it.

As always =====>

Gandalf the White, you always come straight to the point--just like the wizard hisself--and that's what I like aboutcha! I gather the question might've been, do elves really "march" like that, at Helm's Deep, right, lilhobo? I dunno the answer, I here am new. Boy, I sound like Yoda..."away put your weapon." But the Elven legion did look sharp, turned on a dime and fought valiantly.

I like when Aragorn puts his big ol' arms around Haldir and gives him a big ol' hug, and Haldir's like, "um, what am I supposed to do now?"

Oh, thanks guys; I was thinking 'mtach' was 'match' and I was like yeah, Elves don't wear striped shirts with plaid pants. :D

Yup, well said. I don't know if Tolkien ever said, but I think the elves would be very orderly in their armies, much like what we see in the first battle, in the prologue to the movie.

this guy can read bw the lines as well as the other pee pwees, Foe and mark rob :D

lilhobo, is English your first language? If it is, would you please use it?

My point exactly, Eledhwen, that's how it feels to deal with lilhobo. Of course, he may be a little kid! In that case we'll have to pardon him! :D

No, in that case we'll have to educate him.

Ummmm..... Can't we pardon AND educate him?

lilhobo, your assignment is to read Lord of the Rings, and write a comprehensive book report, in monograph form. :D

hehehehahahahahah......why dont you try asking that of PJ :D

besides whenever Ms Maggott makes a huge post it would seem a wasted time, since all the points just flies over their heads.

Notice whenever all the FADS run out of ideas they go and attack a few typos?? :D but that just seems like from the beginning :D

Well, someone here needs to stay on subject...

Yes, the Elves did seem to move in unison with a sharp, almost overly-dramaticized punctuation to everything they did, but I honestly don't picture that as an Elven thing myself. Too Human or Dwarvish. I picture an Elven army to fight with more of a geurrilla warfare flavor to it, striking harshly and ruthlessly where least expected and withdrawing before a sufficient counterattack can be mounted, only to attack likewise from a seperate front and repeat, wearing their enemies down through a mixture of fatigue and shellshock.

But hey, I dunno, might they don't fight for the most part as a race. Maybe they just do like Arwen and whenever someone gets wounded, they make out with them and chill out in Gazebo's in paradise until it's all well and good. Who can be sure of the enigmatic ways of Elves?

Welcome to the forum, Hammerfall

Good point; the Elves of Lothlorien fought like that, but they were in a forest. Military formation is more likely, I feel, in a frontal attack like the one at Helm's deep.

On your first point; we would love to have stayed on the subject, but we hadn't a clue what lilihobo was on about.

What's a FAD, again? We didn't attack your typos, we asked you to explain them, because they were so bad we couldn't tell what you were saying. Quit getting off the point.

I'm gonna read the Sil again, to see if it gives me any ideas about how the elves fought. I'll get back to you.

I just think that the people who can craft to the extent that it seems magic, have very keen senses, and have lived in their bodies for centuries could move with amazing speed and precision, woodland snipers (requires agility too) of Lothlorien or not.

The Elves reminded me of Star Trek's Vulcans, I mean they all seem so logical (since, if you're logical, there is only one way to do things right and so they all do the same), and as you said, Haldir doesn't really seem able to cope with emotions. I don't think JRRT meant for the Elves to have no emotions (on the contrary, they have really strong emotions), so I found the Elves at Helm's Deep a bit weird. But maybe their all behaving the same is just the result of thousands of years of practice.
