I found these on a website,I think they're not accurate because the whole Teleri people are getting one?! Based on what I don't know, anyways what are your thoughts?!
I'm not an expert on either the characters personalities nor MBTI types except what I know of my own,but it seems like an interesting topic.

(Also, Me🤝Celebrimbor)

Don’t worry, it’s not such a hard line! I am very organized and responsible, true, but I can also procrastinate way too much as well!😅 ISTJs are often known as the Inspectors, Guardians, very loyal, traditional, family- and detail-oriented, and prefer facts over abstract/philosophical thinking. I suppose I could see that fitting with Turgon, and possibly Thingol. I’d be interested to know how this person came to their conclusions for assigning the personalities to the characters!

!!!GRUMP ALERT!!!

Now I know that countless studies have shown Homo sapiens to be incessantly on the hunt for patterns, even where there aren't any.
And from my "professional life" (and much reading) I have the strong suspicion that those of us with an accounting / bureaucratic bent have an insatiable urge to "categorize" ("pigeon-hole" is a colloquial term, the German equivalent has to do with drawers).

That is why I have grown increasingly suspicious, and skeptical, of surveys or questionnaires that claim to provide such categorizations. I was confronted with several "employee surveys" in my decades with one of Germany's largest multinational companies, and suffice it to say that the hackles on the back of my neck got more bristly each time.

But then we have such things that can be found on the Internet, usually without any information about the background. Here, you can substitute "terminal" for "increasing", or that I am terminally suspicious and skeptical about them ...

I get what you mean, even MBTI test which is a somewhat scientific test is not always completely true, and a person's type can change over the months or even years esp if they're teenagers
I especially dislike astrology for the same reason

Oh really? Did you come up with any guesses?
I don’t fully remember all of them, but @Maedhros_Nelyafinwë sure knows a lot about it! Much of what I know came from her, as we’ve had many discussions about MBTI types over the years. I trust her judgement in evaluating characters. I think she did say that Maedhros (the character) would be an ENFJ...? (Don’t quote me on that.😆)

Maybe when her work is done for the day she can shine some light on the topic!

Very interesting ! I've never taken MBTI tests before. I have however done the Enneagram and have gotten really into building characters with it and categorically sorting characters from books.

Fascinating!
I like the MBTI personality descriptions pretty well, and I know mine suits me quite closely. I’ve heard much about the Enneagram, but I’ve never done that one. That’s awesome you use it for characters, though- I can see it must really work!

Neat. I've never taken any of the tests for it before, I know there are many sites that do it, but I've always been hesitant because of scam sites, etc. The Enneagram is great. I've used it for every character that I've really created and I've used it for developing characters in the roleplay. I love how it underlines not just traits, but actions and thinking patterns and ways of handling stress, relief, conflict, etc. It's excellent, and I've pretty much studied it to death, so I know an awful lot about it.

I'll have to try out MBTI. I've wanted to get into it for a while now. Just never quite did.
I've never heard of that! I'll definitely do it
Yes, it's awesome!

Thanks for posting this, @Aredhel Ar-Feiniel! Pretty cool idea, the MBTI personality typing is fun, and I'm reading through The Silmarillion right now.

I like the idea of Finrod Felagund as an INFP, because that's my own personality type, and so far Finrod has become notable as my favorite character during this re-read. Although it seems to me he's pretty outgoing for an INFP...he's the one who approached the Atani first, and constantly makes connections with them, which makes me think he's more outgoing, introverted; delights in the company of others. [Edited to note: I noticed later that I had mis-read Fingon as Finrod. It's early in the morning. Oops!]

In a similar vein, it's fun to imagine the Teleri as collectively being of my own type.

Also Feanor's typing jumped out at me as a puzzle. There's so much emphasis on him as a spirited, fiery type, passionate. Wears his heart on his sleeve; you know clearly if he likes you or not. Which makes me think he's more of an NF rather than an NT.

I'm excited to look through the results for other characters!
