I know i might be having a hot take. When i saw the movie i thought he was a good character.
But the part in the book where he tells Eowyn to give up her old ways. I was thinking. WHAT?!!!
But its only when i am older that i get it. And its honestly well written. In reality, i think Faramir was trying to make Eowyn less restless. Which is a moral thing to do.
In "Two Towers" book, Aragorn asks what Eowyn fears. She responds " A cage. To stay behind bars, until use and old age accept them, and all chance of doing great deeds is gone beyond recall"
So him trying to make her go to a normal compatible life.... i can sorta see was an act of kindness when i think about it.
But whats your view on it?
