Is Daniel a suitable name for a granddaughter of Denethor?

So, one of the names of Lenwë, the Elf leader who lead those who refused to cross the Misty Mountains, was Dan (also Denweg & Denwego) and from there we get Denethor (Primitive Elvish Ndani-thārō, meaning "Saviour of the Dani"). Would, then, the name Daniel be a sufficient name for a granddaughter (a daughter of Denethor, for instance)? I do find it amusing that it is a male name in English but with a female patronym in Elvish.

There is a small problem, just like Sindarin, Danian seems to have had i-affection, by which a following i changes a preceding vowel to become more similar to i as well. The best example is Nani-thārō > Denethor where the first a is changed to e by the following i, so I would assume that primitive Danielde would actually become Deniel.

That's at least the situation in Danian of the 1930s. However the coincidence is way too funny to let it slide and we might indeed have a chance in Late Period Nandorin. There Tolkien revised the etymology of the name Denethor to Dene-thara “lithe-and-lank” (so no i-affection here) and if Galion is Nandorin, which it might, it shows an unchanged a-i sequence, so it might indeed be viable.

We COULD make the argument that the pronunciation shifted. Daniel marries Argon, son of Fingolfin, in my AU Fanfic, and they have a daughter Ereiniel (assuming that one is right too). So her exposure to Quenya might cause a shift?
