Saw ROTK last night at Mindnight, and I gotta say the Minas Tirith battles is the best Ive seen EVER on screen...... the Nazgul, the Oliphaunts, the charge of the Eorlingas, the death of the Witch King, etc.

The only thing I wish had been included is the meeting and the dialogue between Gandalf and the Witch-King at the gates when he removes his hood.

Might be in the DVD:EE - PJ supposedly had over 4.5 hours of material just for ROTK originally...

Yeah i think i read in my local newspaper that PJ said the origional cut was 4 hours and 23 minutes. Oh god i can not wait!! Got a Looooong wait though!

LordofMoria, why do you say that it will be a long wait?

I'm sure that the theatrical edition will be released first followed by the extended edition. But New Line does not have to follow the same release schedule as FOTR and TT because there will be no 4th film next December, right?

I'm hoping that film will be released earlier this time around, but only time will tell.

From the verry begining the scrip writers have decided that the scourging of the shire will not appear as a scene just like Tom Bombandil(atleast we have his lines given to Treebeard in TTT EE),so the mirror of Galadriel is the closest look we have.
But the one thin i am looking forward in the EE is nothing else but Saruman-he was the best character so fat and how he's gone.DAMNNNNNNNNNN PJ

I dont know if u understand the business world Brytta. New Line will release the Theatrical version on DVD first and have many many peopple buy that. Then in the few months to come, the EE will be released so some of the same people that bought the TE will also buy the EE. MORE MONEY!!! I buy both. Also a lot more preperations has to go into the EE as well. i am sure PJ will be working on the TE Specials first. Then he will move onto the EE. I have no reason to believe the EE for ROTK would not be release before Mid November 2004! So a loooooooong wait! It has really nothing to do with the next film (or if there was one in this case) Its about money!
