Out of all the
Elves, I don't really mind
Círdan looking a bit old.
Neither did
Tolkien mind
"Very tall he was, and his beard was long, and he was grey and old, save that his eyes were keen as stars; and . . ." description of Círdan,
The Grey Havens.
Granted the text says he "was" grey and old, but the meaning (in my opinion), given
the whole sentence, is that Círdan
looked old (beyond having a long beard), save for his eyes. Meanwhile, with respect to
Celeborn and
Galadriel:
". . . but no sign of age was upon them, unless it were in the depths of their eyes; for these were keen as lances in the starlight, and yet profound, the wells of deep memory."
That said, in any case the show takes place somewhere in the
Second Age -- in a "time" that doesn't exist in Tolkien's world, since the show-folk tinkered with the
events of the timeline -- but before
the Third Age in any case, with this description from the Grey Havens coming thousands of years later.
But then again he has hardly more than the scraggly Miami Vice three-days-growth that was such an issue about at least
Thorin,
Fili and Kili in the TH films.
That guy basically has my hair and beard, although my beard is totally white --
erm, when I imagine myself in man-form that is.

His beard should be longer than that of any Third Age wizard, of of any
dwarf.
But do we know when Círdan bearded-up? And I assume even Elves in their "Third Cycle of life" (
rabbit hole alert) could shave, if desired.
