And here's another bit of retro TV trivia: in the 70s, Rod Serling featured two 60s military "leaders" in an episode of Night Gallery:

Colonel Klink and Leadbottom, together at last! 😅

Well, is this thread derailing already? Because I thought that posting something Mahler-related in a music thread would have sealed its fate so that it would never again derail. Have I been proven wrong already? 😅

I'm a bit biased from living in Pittsburgh but I love our symphony. They go on tour in Europe regularly and I believe livestreamed this one (or one similar) in Heinz Hall for us to watch as they were performing.

Oh my, another Mahler symphony! You guys are overwhelming me in utter bliss here! 😊 I cannot seem to get enough! 😂

Pittsburgh Symphony is great.
I had quite a few vinyl recordings by them with Reiner and Steinberg on the podium.
Yeah, I could watch them play for hours, they’re so very talented. This year they did the music for A Muppet Christmas Carol while the movie played. They do that a few times a year and it’s always a ton of fun.

I saw Alexander Nevsky with the Baltimore Symphony playing the soundtrack music. That was awe-inspiring.

@Írelilta ...Got both of them in my "hard copy" CD collection (but not with those particular orchestras or conductors)
Tchaikovsky's last three symphonies.... some of my favorite symphonies by any composer.

Glad to hear! The last movement of Tchaikovsky's 6th is deeply mellow and sad.
