Indeed. And I think the contrast between how the adult Celegorm feels about Fëanor, and how Fëanor responds to what has befallen his son, makes it doubly sad. It shows how far Fëanor fell, how much he had changed by the end of his life. His children mean so much to him now, but their fates seemed to matter to him so little at the end.Fëanor's viewpoint was even more heartbreaking, not only as he has a small panic over the ring which has burned his child, but as he realizes why it did so. I find it precious he instantly disregarded the idea it was really Tyelko who has evil intentions, instead going straight to the theory of Tyelko being a victim of some kind of possession or curse. Which...he kind of is. Fëanor's care for his children is very deep.
