Tolkien Artwork

I love much of Jenny Dolfen’s artwork, for she creates so many great pieces that really capture the essence of a character and scene. This one is so sad, though!!😭

It's Fingon right?!
His death was one of the saddests because he died alone😭!
Yep! It is.
Oh, it totally was! No one was there when he died to comfort him or be with him, and his body was crushed to dust before anyone even got the chance to see it or bury it. I'd hate to see Maedhros' reaction to that... (Although in a strange way kind of *want* to see it...)

@Berzelmayr - regarding this post...

Ent has pondered long (or not).

It is a very nicely drawn pic, showing good skill.
And, it's not too bad a representation of a Pine Ent. Slightly though, unfortunately, it seems to do what there is a wee tendency for artists and others to do with Tolkien's creatures... such as Balrogs, Oliphaunts, and the like.

In short, it is a bit oversized. Either that, or the forest around it is quite a puny forest. Maybe a recent re-forestation effort after Saruman's strip-treeing or something.

We must remember Treebeard is found WITHIN the forest, as are the ents who shepherded the huorns assisting at the Battle of the Hornburg. It wasn't until they came out, they were visible.

We do not tower over that which surrounds us... though we're big enough to stick hobbits on our shoulders.

Ent shares this just so folks probing 'Tolkien' vs 'thoughts and depictions of others' don't become overly swayed by outsized pictures of ents as many have unfortunately become with the other beings and creatures... some here may be among 'moviegoing' or 'artistic works' fans, and may be able to help gently nudge them to Tolkien's epic work and correct depiction as opposed to those producing for spectacle and effect instead.

IIRC Treebeard was about 14 feet tall.
Could well, be... Ent think's that's about right will need to check - and just a little taller than a Balrog, (twice the height of a man).

Of course, trees of the forest get well taller than either of them.

We will just give grace to the artist, and declare he's overlooking a newly planted group of 4-5 foot saplings when he's caught on canvas.
