I think artist played too much God of War... or he is fan of Nordic mythology... or both:
I do think that world-ending snake is a bad model for Glaurung, however... on the flip side, considering Tolkien drew Smaug as basically a snake, I do imagine flightless Glaurung was rather snake-like.

Tolkien DID call them "worms" for a reason. This is how large and roughly the shape *I* imagine Glaurung taking. His head was able to lie on top of an entire hill after all.
I wondered if it was you, but I think the blond is a "loyal Elf." If I understood the Russian caption correctly. So maybe he's just one of Maedhros' warriors. But we can headcanon it's you; the height and hair are right!
Edit: Looking again, I guess he's a little short to be Celegorm but eh, close enough.
It's true that they should be impressive to look at. And certainly some of them were extremely tall in comparison to Men (e.g. Turgon). But maybe it's more something spiritual about them that makes them so imposing (though you could still represent this with large size in a drawing).
After all, Beren was able to toss Curufin. 😁 If the size difference was too great, this would be physically improbable.

Well, a lot of Tolkien's heroic men were described as tall and looking like Elves. And since Curufin is not the one known as The Tall here, maybe it would be less of a height difference.
