Treebeard's Special Talent

For a moment Treebeard stood under the rain of the falling spring, and took a deep breath; then he laughed, and passed inside. A great stone table stood there, but no chairs. At the back of the bay it was already quite dark. Treebeard lifted two great vessels and stood them on the table. They seemed to be filled with water; but he held his ands over them and immediately they began to glow, one with a golden and the other with a rich green light; and the blending of the two lights lit the bay, as if the sun of summer was shining through a roof of young leaves. Looking back, the hobbits saw that the trees in the court had also begun to glow, faintly at first, bu steadily quickening, until every leaf was edged with light: some green, some gold, some red as copper, while the tree-trunks looked like pillars moulded out of luminous stone.

How do you suppose Treebeard did this? As far as I know, Ents have no special powers or features...

Well, he is the Lord of Fangorn or watever, and can wake trees up, so i presumed that he does have special powers. I presume he can do those kind of things, purifiying water and such. So yes, i think he does have special powers, if thats what their called

Well since the spirits of the Ents (Olvar and Kelvar) were sent by Yavanna, perhaps they have some minor Maia-type abilities and were given simple powers like that.

Well, what ARE the special powers? Something that seems to us magical? Like the "magic" of the Elves? Magic and special powers can be easily confused with the inherent powers that every being has.
On these grounds, I consider that the Ents were capable of many actions that seemed to us strange.

Well, there is an obscure connection: Yavanna helped make The Two Trees whose light was so splendid, and Yavanna created the Ents.

Oooh...Telperion was dark green, and Laurelin was gold...the same colors as Treebeard's glowing goo...

Hrmm...
