Who did fight personally against 👁️Sauron?

Question bout sauron.

I havent read like the history of me or anything but has anyone that is against sauron ever come up to him alone and struggled against hime face to face? I know Elendil, Isildur, and Gil-Galad were the three warriors who defeated sauron but that was together.

I suppose the most famous one on one battles would be between Sauron and Finrod Felagund, brother of Galadriel, as is told in the tale of Beren and Luthien. Unfortunately for Finrod - he came out second best. In the same tale Sauron also fights with Huan, might hound of Valinor, and is beaten... They are the only ones I can think of right now.

I believe Luthien also bested him, but I would have to check if it was one on one.
